About Qomo Capital & the China Cleantech Collaboratory

Qomo Capital & the China Cleantech Collaboratory is a hybrid cross-border technology venture capital firm and technology-business accelerator focused on the commercialization of high tech companies in China for the China and global markets. We specialize in ‘importing’ overseas tech companies in the fields of advanced manufacturing, new-energy vehicles, semiconductor, robotics, artificial intelligence, etc. and building up their business in China by uniquely providing a set of comprehensive services from market entry strategy and operational implementation to strategic business development and technical sales to venture capital financing and IP monetization and licensing.

You will be joining a team of seasoned executives from GE’s Disruptive Technologies Group, GE Ventures, Siemens VC, New Margin VC, and McKinsey & Company, etc. where you will be exposed to the world’s leading industrial and sustainability innovations learning how to accelerate their commercialization and growth in China enabled by cross-border venture capital financing.

Key Responsibilities

1. Assist in the evaluation and lead due diligence on a wide variety of innovative technologies and start-up companies from overseas and China;

2. Conduct primary and secondary market research, industry and regulatory analyses, and produce internal and project reports, including deal summaries, investment proposals, powerpoint presentations, etc;

3. Synthesize research to formulate original China market entry strategies and business plans / models, including detailed operational execution plans and proforma financials;

4. Proactively arrange and conduct business development and customer-facing sales & marketing type calls and meetings with prospective early adopter / end-user companies and government stakeholders, with ability to explain technical topics competently and convincingly;

5. Oral and written translation in real-time meetings and documents from English to Chinese and vice versa;

Minimum Requirements

1. High oral and written fluency in Chinese and English, with overseas education and work experience a plus, and the ability to interface effectively with senior level Western and Chinese decision-makers;

2. Undergraduate with preference for Masters degree; major or concentration in technical/engineering or accounting/finance;

3. Previous experience in VC/PE, consulting, investment banking, auditing/accounting or equity research.

4. Previous experience in a technical or business development role in a foreign or multi-national corporation;

5. Professional attitude; excellent listening and communication skills, with preference for ‘outward’ personality to effectively conduct business development and strategic sales and marketing;

6. Strong project management skills with experience leading a team or department;

7. Ability to think critically and work independently with limited guidance to complete tasks on time; self-starter, pro-active, and solution-oriented; intellectually curious and honest.

Location: Pukou District, Nanjing or Jingan District, Shanghai.
