Rakuten Advertising's Global Publisher group exists to discover, recruit, onboard and develop performance partnership opportunities to match advertiser side needs to increase overall performance for our key clients. Our objectives as a group are to diversify and grow our global network across emerging geographies, verticals and by publisher types; and to win and retain key global/local accounts. The focus for this role will be in our Asia regions, with markets like Greater China.
The Publisher Acquisition Specialist will play a pivotal role in recruiting the publisher network, both in-depth and breadth of publishers with a focus on a region, vertical or key client project. The role plays an integral part in contributing to client satisfaction and achievement of publisher and Rakuten Marketing revenue goals.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and manage own sales pipeline, supported by Director of Publisher Services, and key commercial stakeholders
- Identify and pro-actively meet and recruit relevant publishers based on market/vertical/client needs
- Represent the Rakuten Affiliate Network to educate key publishers on the use of affiliate marketing with the aim of recruiting them into the network
- Design suitable strategies to develop the use of affiliate marketing activities to empower the growth of publishers with diverse business models
- Attend industry events
- Provide account onboarding, activation support and recommendations to a set portfolio of publishers
- Run reports and provide bespoke analysis to ensure visibility on campaign performance
- Provide visibility for publishers in internal forums to maximize new partnership approval
- Act as 'inside sales' for partners to help advocate and educate Rakuten Advertising commercial teams (Sales and Client Services) across all global networks
- Work towards a quota and potential revenue target to meet revenue goals for assigned portfolio
- Learn high-level capabilities of our proprietary software and educate publishers to increase adoption
- Support the APAC team in internal and external communications regarding cross-functional initiatives & network updates
- Remain ahead of industry trends and development by reading industry news and networking to act as an expert in discussion with publishers
Skills and Experiences:
- Experience in digital marketing, publisher or affiliate marketing
- Bachelor's degree, internship experience preferred
- Solid understanding of the affiliate landscape in Asia-Pacific, with key markets such as China, Taiwan and Hong Kong
- Fluency in both Chinese and English as this position requires you to communicate with external and internal stakeholders within the key markets – China, Taiwan & Hong Kong
- Advanced proficiency with Excel (e.g. data pivoting) for client-ready reports and presentations. Good working knowledge of Microsoft PowerPoint
- Ability and willingness to learn publisher integration tools and products
