GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES:
This role is responsible for the whole PO & Inventory management to ensure safe product supply to the Global Drive Medical business. Issue POs according to demand planning v.s. inventory status. Follow up supplier confirmation on POs and CRD (cargo ready date). Follow up supplier productions to ensure on time PO fulfillment. Conduct supplier systems and processes training and improving to ensure safe & accurate information flow as well as improving efficiency. Collaborate with Sourcing and Quality team to evaluate and manage suppliers’ performance and capability, be alerted about possible supplier risks and make necessary preparations or backup plan. Coordinate and collaborate with different internal and external stakeholders to ensure effective execution of Supply Chain goals.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Issue POs in OSCA system to suppliers according to demand planning v.s. inventory status. Follow up supplier confirmation on POs and CRD (cargo ready date).
Use buyer skills to ensure smooth and on time PO fulfillment. Actively work with suppliers to ensure accurate PO information maintaining in Setlog system.
Work with supplier, China internal team (Quality/Sourcing/Logistics team etc) to solve unexpected lead time issues. Identify factory capacity and lead time bottleneck, work with factory production team to overcome the bottleneck. Escalate issues beyond buyer capability to related sales/customer or leadership to get more solutions and avoid last minute surprise.
Plan and execute inventory position strategy, build supplier owned inventory to shorten lead time. Create and coordinate the cross sign of supplier owned inventory agreement
Tracking and reporting supplier owned work in process inventory or finish goods, work with Sourcing team to execute the excess inventory disposition
Coordinate factory holiday shut down schedule, reflect factory black out period into PO placing and lead time planning
Drive the execution of supply chain efficiency improvement program, Quick Ship, Lead Time cleansing and other program developed by supply chain leadership
Train supplier factory for the tools and processes that enable supply chain efficiency improvement
Collaborate with Sourcing and Quality team to evaluate and manage suppliers’ performance and capability on meeting lead time, delivery full volume on time
Be cautious and alerted about possible supplier risks and make preparation or backup plan
Be able to make reasonable and effective contingency plan when facing different kinds of supplier fails
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Must possess sight/hearing senses, or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately so that the requirements of this position can be fully met. Physical activity includes
walking, standing, bending, squatting, reaching above shoulders and lifting up to 40lbs. Must be able to drive an automobile for short and long distances.
This position requires sitting for a long period of time.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Performs office activities in a lighted and ventilated area. May be subject to changes in temperature and exposure to dust. Will be exposed to uncontrolled environmental conditions during driving. Will work in a normally acceptable office environment, with no abnormal hazards or risks. QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, AND SKILLS:
A thorough understanding of the whole process of PO ordering work flow
Highly motivated with strong sense of urgency and initiative. Takes ownership.
Able to work independently with minimum supervision. Able to work under pressure.
Good problem-solving skills, to identify problems, develop and implement solutions to the issues
Excellent communication and negotiation skills

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Effective written and verbal communication in English and Mandarin
A Bachelor’s degree in a business, Supply Chain or other related field.
5-8 years’ working experience on buyer/merchandising in trading company or buying office. Knowledge on lean operations, Industrial Engineer experience, and experiences on VMI would be a plus.
Proficient PC skills including MS Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook etc.
