Your key responsibilities include:
Providing guidance and resolutions to IT (Information Technology) and *** (Audio & Visual) demand
- Play a key role in establishing CBI’s computing facilities.
- Check computer hardware (HDD, mouses, keyboards etc.) to ensure functionality.
- Install and configure appropriate software and functions according to specifications.
- Identify computer or network equipment shortages and place orders
- Respond to On-site support requests from CBI research and administration teams
- Proactive maintenance and support of *** equipment and facilities;
- User account administration;
- Diagnose and report hardware faults to Central IT Service colleagues and follow-up on response by 3rd party suppliers;
- Ensure accurate completion of documentation, records and reports (e.g. Remedy - SmartIT, inventory) to ensure quality of information provision;
- Maintain IT inventories within CBI and provide feedback to inform budget and purchasing decisions;
- Be responsible for the disposal of obsolete equipment in accordance with University policy.
Information and data security management
- Ensure security and privacy of networks and computer systems
- Cooperate with user groups to identify key information assets and assess risks related to data security management practices to ensure the security operation of the institute.
- Participated in the information security architecture and requirement design of the university IT infrastructure, and was familiar with the requirements of security management in various stages of the software development life cycle to ensure the security of the system
- Understand the domestic information security regulatory requirements, find out gap and provide support to meet regulatory requirements and support supervision and internal audit and compliance audit, ensure timely follow up and resolve problems found
- Develop and help implement processes and procedures, in order to improve the incident response and accident analysis, record events during all activities, and provide status updates in the life cycle of the incident, actively cooperate with the supervision and inspection of regulatory authorities.
- Communicate effectively with users, peers and management on information security related matters/audit/regulatory requirements/policies; Cooperate with relevant government departments to carry out various security and supervise related matters(including web site registration, and maintain harmonious communication and cooperation with relevant departments
- Be familiar with the process and related system of personal information and privacy security protection, and strengthen the personal information security protection according to the best practices in the industry
- Use scanning tools to check and audit host, network, web sites periodically and submit report
- Monitoring information security content by daily and irregular on-site inspection, including the use of the necessary inspection tools
- Work closely with other teams and third-party security service providers to achieve the security goals
Website infrastructure building and maintenance
- Day-to-day technical monitoring and maintenance of the website ensuring the website is optimised and highly performing
- Develop the content management system and website to support marketing activities.
- Support working with external agencies to implement new developments/functionality.
- Regular collection, analysis and reporting on website statistics, using data from Google Analytics, Google Webmaster Tools, Baidu Tongji, Baidu Zhanzhang, survey responses and other relevant sources
- Coordinate the review and analysis of customer feedback and website statistics
- Conduct and monitor tests to improve website performance, including speed, security and stability
- Coordinate and implement other research and analysis that will impact website and general marketing success including optimising customer journeys and user experience
Specialist Advice and user training
- Provide orientation and guidance to users on how to operate new software and computer equipment.
- Provide training and mentoring to colleagues and customers in person on IT and *** technologies
- Perform troubleshooting to diagnose and resolve problems (repair or replace parts, debugging etc.) upon request.
- Maintain records/logs of repairs and fixes and maintenance schedule
Collaboration with IT Services colleagues to ensure best practice
- Provide and support appropriate IT solutions that understand and meet the requirements of the University’s diverse community, with heightened emphasis on research;
- Work closely with colleagues to provide specialised support, guidance and tailored IT skills training, using ITIL best practice as the basis;
- Liaise with and discuss current issues with other IT Support teams to ensure and share best practice and to contribute to workload planning;
- Participate in regular team meetings to exchange views on current IT issues and their resolution;
- Assist other IT Support staff and provide cover when necessary to ensure a consistent quality of service for the whole University;
- Ensure the completion of documentations, records and reports.
Learning and Study
- Develop technical and interpersonal skills with emphasis in an agreed area of expertise, focusing at times on skills appropriate to University initiatives.
- Maintain a broad knowledge of new developments in the rapidly changing discipline of IT and *** technologies through personal study and experimentation.
- To fulfil any other duties assigned by the line manager.
About You
- You should have Experience of working in the multicultural environment;
- You should have experience in initiating, planning and executing projects;
- You should have excellent Chinese (Putonghua) and English skills, both written and verbal.
