PRINCIPal ACCOUNTABILITIES:             

1. Be responsible for formulating and maintaining the IACUC scheme of the facility and veterinary related standard operating procedures, establishing the ethics supervision standard for experimental animals, ensuring animal welfare and cooperating with the auditing work of relevant internal and external institutions.

2. Formulate the biosafety plan for laboratory animals in the facility, including conducting supplier inspection, supervising and guiding the processes of laboratory animals receiving, quarantine adaptation, transfer, daily health observation and abnormal situation treatment (establishing a lasting and reliable animal health assessment system), disease prevention and control and feeding safety management, etc.; Set up and supervise the implementation of sentinel animal program.

3. Be responsible for the operation and management of the whole barrier facilities, such as microbial monitoring, maintenance of barrier environment, EHS and OHS issues, etc.

4. Assist in veterinary related work in the experimental project, including: guidance of aseptic operation, selection and evaluation of narcotic drugs and analgesics, clinical observation and gross necropsy of animals in the studies, euthanasia operation, etc.

5. Personnel training: including veterinarians, ACU staff and breeders.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:  

1. Major in animal medicine or veterinary medicine, master's degree or above, qualified as a licensed veterinarian recognized by the authority of China or other countries. Those who pass AALAS related examinations (LAT and LATG) are preferred;

2. More than 5 years of veterinary management or experimental animal breeding management experience, with CRO company working experience is preferred;

3. Familiar with relevant laws and regulations and national standards for laboratory animals in China, AAALAC certification standards, Guide, PHS and other regulations and requirements, and familiar with relevant standards and requirements for European laboratory animals;

4. Be familiar with common diseases of rodent & large laboratory animals and have rich experience in clinical symptoms and necropsy that may occur in PK studies;

5. Good command of English in listening, speaking, reading and writing, able to communicate smoothly with foreign clients, with overseas study background preferred.
