Continuous improvement for existing units

    

• Oversight of processes and working to maintain optimization of the production line
• Designing, running, testing and upgrading systems and processes.
• Improving industrial processes in order to maintain efficiency, reduce cost, improve sustainability, product quality and maximize profitability.
• Data collection, interpretation and report writing
• Assessing processes deviation, taking measurements and interpreting data.
• Presentation of data and reports to senior colleagues and management
• Ensure R&D & Technology support to our production team in order to operate our processes in optimal conditions of economic performance, health, safety and environment
• Provide support to investment projects and continuously improve our production processes to have the most competitive technologies
• Develop innovation and technological breakthroughs respectful of the principles of sustainable development in collaboration with academic and industrial partners projects

    

Industrial projects & management of change for existing and new process units 

As part of the project team:

• create, set specifications, develop, implement and monitor this equipment or these processes for a new facility
• write functional scope of work for this facility
• validate process data base for project implementation
• participate to project Risk Assessments of the equipment and processes being used.
• participate to project meetings and validation process
• analyze capital expenditures and project designs to help find ways to cut costs through value improving practices.
• use of simulation software in the development of new processes
• develop best practices, routines and innovative solutions to improve production rates and quality of output

Participate to commissioning and startup phases for new processes

    

Technical meeting facilitation

• Assisting Production team in troubleshooting in the event of a problem

• Completion of documentation for training
• Support industrial startup as required

    

Documentation management

    

• Completion of documentation to show and ensure compliance with both internal and external regulations and protocols
• In charge of technology watch to integrate new process technology into an existing business environment

    

INTERNAL / EXTERNAL RELATIONSHIPS

Internal :    R&D (CINACHEM & CINABIO & CINATECH), production department, HSE department, laboratory  

External :   Engineering support TECHNIP or local engineering companies, suppliers, customers

REQUIREMENTS

Skills :

• PhD Degree in Chemical Engineering or related discipline required (Master degree should be with >3 years of experience)
• Mastery in typical process calculations such as heat and mass balance.
• Experience in process simulations; working knowledge of process engineering softwares,  statistical analysis skills.
• Strong sense and knowledge in health and safety regulations

• Critical/logical thinking – have to locate problems, and then think of those problems from a variety of perspectives to assess the best solution
• Excellent communication skills – working with people across the manufacturing process, they have to be able to communicate new ideas effectively
• Calm under pressure – must be able to troubleshoot at an advanced level. If a problem is delaying manufacturing, they must be able to come up with effective working solutions quickly
• Excellent computer skills –Analytical skills – responsible for analysis and interpretation of data into charts, diagrams, and reports
• Creative thinking and excellent problem-solving skills – have to be able to solve problems in a new way, seeing past what is established and create a new way of doing things
• Strong chemical engineering knowledge
• Basic project management capabilities
• Strong process optimization and trouble shooting skills
• Good team player

Experience :  proven work experience in process engineering

Language : English with working-level proficiency

Computer skills: Standard pack office.  IT is an essential part of this role, uses include simulation software, design software and reporting
