Ecolab is seeking a Lead Chemist to develop and advance technical platforms satisfying both business and customer needs. You will be responsible for performing and leading research, development and problem solving projects to enable new product and platform development. You will work closely with anchor and divisional RDE teams to design, execute and communicate results. Successful candidates will possess strong collaboration and teamwork skills, be self-motivated, have good communication skills, be a creative problem solver, and have strong observation and perception skills.

This professional role requires the individual to work independently with minimal direction, leading projects related to the Institutional hospitality business. This will include developing project requirements, managing project budgets/timelines, and leading global project teams. This individual will also investigate sales and profitability of products and make recommendations for future product development to management.
This role focuses on creating innovative products that improve the customer experience while also improving safety and value. As a key leader within RD&E, this individual will provide significant input into project direction, strategy, and timing. This individual is also encouraged to ideate/invent new product concepts intended to eventually be commercialized.

Main Responsibilities
?Develop new innovative platforms that meet strategic business needs and protect Ecolab’s market-leading position – including chemistry program development with associated dispensing, control, and packaging
?Lead large, complex commercialization projects with complete understanding of Phase Gate process, and consistent communication with multi-functional project team members – Packaging, GSE, Process Engineering, Procurement, Planning, Regulatory, Finance, Marketing, etc
?Support laundry product categories: maintenance, cost savings, and regulation / compliance efforts
?Test, evaluate, and analyze equipment solutions to determine or prove performance and reliability
?Take ownership of specifications, quality improvements, product performance validations and assist with processing scale up when applicable
?Communicate effectively with Global RD&E, Marketing, Regulatory, Supply Chain, and Finance to execute/accelerate the new product development project
?Design experiments using statistical analysis to understand the dynamics of chemical formulations
?Determine process capability through statistical analysis and make recommendations for product and process specifications
?Competitive analysis for the products in the competitive market
?Develop portfolio management with marketing team
?Provide technical knowledge support on products to resolve customer’s problem

?5-7+ years of related experience in a product / formula development or project leadership capacity
?Strong leadership, teamwork, and interpersonal communication skillPreferred Qualifications
?Demonstrated initiative and ability to work independently, as well as with others, while handling multiple tasks or projects
?Effective oral and written communication skills, organizational skills, and attention to detail
