GENERAL SUMMARY/OVERVIEW STATEMENT: Summarize the nature and level of work performed.

Perform all clerical duties in the Emergency Room to maintain an organized working environment in ER, and allow medical staff to focus on patient care. He or she also maintains a line of communication between the patient and clinical staff.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Manage the ER telephone line and assist in screening incoming calls when nurses are involving in patient care.

-Register patients, prepare medical records, X-ray films, and other related medical documentation.

-Perform all clerical functions and duties, such as answering phones, making copies, scheduling appointments and maintaining supplies

-Assist nurse to complete patient ER visited. Prepare admission and transfer patient issue etc. accordingly

-Maintain good communication with patients, nurses, physician and allied health professionals.

-Any other duties as assigned when needed.

1.      Skills Excellent customer service skill.

-Good phone manners.

-Able to handle multi-task and remain calm, patient, and in control; unshaken by medical scenarios (will be stationed in the ER); Caring in nature.

-Good spoken and written in English and Chinese.

-Team player/worker, be flexible and able to work with multi-nationalities and all levels of staff

2. Knowledge: Skill attained through formal and experiential knowledge.

-Good command of both English and Chinese.

-Computer Skills-Proficient in basic computer skills including e-mail, MS programs.

-Good understanding in the operation of and Emergency Room, clinics and hospital.

-Understand basic medical terminology
