General Manager for QUALITY & LEAN in China
The Quality and Lean (Quality Assurance / Quality Control and Lean/Continues Improvement) function in FLSmidth China Qingdao is part of the Group Quality function located in the headoffice in Denmark. The China Qingdao function takes care of Quality & Lean within FLSmidth China.
The overall responsibility of the Quality & Lean function is to maintain and improve the Quality Management System for FLSmidth China and perform inspection of equipment delivered to our cement/minerals projects worldwide (also within China).
Supplier evaluation/audits and Supplier development/improvement is also part of the repsonsibilities.
The Inspection (QC) function also provides Quality Control services/inspection of all equipment manufactured at the FLSmidth Qingdao workshop.
Quality & Lean function in China Qingdao is overall responsible for the following tasks:
· Maintenance and development of the Quality Management System incl. internal audits and ISO9001 certification.
· Support and guide the quality improvement efforts.
· Overall coordination of Non-Conforming Material (NCR) handling in China. As part of this ensure proper root cause analysis and corrective actions.
· Source Inspection of equipment at suppliers and in own workshop (QC).
· Perform supplier audits and drive supplier quality improvements/developments.
The Quality & Lean function in China has currently around 25 employees.
More specific responsibilities:
Provide leadership to meet departmental/company KPIs; review progress against process and activity plans pertaining to the Quality & Lean Department and advice course direction/ actions.
Develop competencies of staff through training/assessment/feedback processes and monitor performance - as part of this conduct Personal Development Reviews.
Identify improvement areas in Quality & Lean, facilitate in creating plans and monitor for improvement.
Motivate, provide advice/support and priorities/direction to the Quality & Lean functions and staff.
Coordinate / manage inspection resources between different functions (QA/Lean, QC - Supplier Quality Management - Workshop Quality Management).
Coordination and liaise between global FLSmidth group companies at management level regarding Quality & Lean activities in China.
Invoice to FLSmidth group companies for Inspection services rendered to them and maintain records.
Facilitate payment to Inspection service providers and maintain records.
General employee administration e.g. travel / time keeping / stationary / expense / IT / employee list updates / movements etc.
