Job Title: Account Manager South China

 Report to: Territory Manager South China

 Business Unit: DSM Engineering Materials

 Location: Chengdu

 

 

Purpose of the job:

 1. To identify, develop and commercialize new business typically via multiplication of successful existing or new developed applications at new (and existing) customers in South China.

 

 

 The Position:

 1. The primary function of this role is to implement DEP sales & marketing strategy in new business development and key accounts’ management in South China by initiating contacts with existing and potential customers, and deliver business results         

 2. Responsible for leveraging and coordinating GTS efforts for the projects development.

 3. Responsible for positioning new value proposals at target accounts for commercial development of new value proposals and for communicating value proposals to the market.

 4. Develop and maintain networks at adequate levels in the value chain, within customer’s organizations and Research, focusing on engineering and technology. 

 5. Responsible to communicate towards the customer and product manager the commercial request/availability dates and market needs wrt new application developments as input to the marketing plan.

 6. Responsible for collecting market information and communicating current and emerging needs for current and new accounts within the segment and region to drive value proposal development.

 7. (Customer Specific) Value proposition development and improvement.

 8. Propose, and after approval of Product Manager, manage assigned budget for the project(s).

 9. Commercialization of targeted value propositions.

 10. Network building in the industry and South China.

 11. Knowledge building & propagation of that knowledge within DSM.

 

 

 The Ideal:

 1. Minimum 10 years’ relevant B2B experience in the field of business development. 

 2. Creative and pioneering experience.

 3. Analytical skills.

 4. Relation builder (good social skills), net worker.

 5. Structured worker with project experience.

 6. A strong negotiator who can identify customers’ needs and persuasive in presenting ideas. 

 7. Creative and pioneering experience.

 8. Knowledge of business & process within his segment.

 9. Bachelor’s or master’s degree or equivalent experience in Engineering-related field. 

 10. Broad view on industry and markets, in-depth know-how about products and/or applications.

 11. Balance of commercial and technical know-how, skills and experience.

 12. Excellent communication, language and social skills.

 13. International working experience.
