Main Responsibilities

1. Lead application, the planning and implementation of new market development in Western China

2. Provide technical and applications support service to customers, distributors, agents and sales team in west china industrial vacuum business as required.

3. Interpret customer process conditions and enquiry specifications, including pump sizing, selection, and proposed system design. Where appropriate, prepare P&I diagrams and other documents required for the supply of customer quotations.

4. Joint visits to customers to assess application needs, and to present solutions developed, in a way which promotes Edwards as the “Vacuum Experts” thus gaining business and market share as well as increasing the knowledge and experience of the sales teams.

5. Deliver technical presentations and seminars to customers, particularly on details of product improvements in design, technology, and safety to meeting new applications needs.

6. Initiate and participate in internal project kick off meetings, hand over and further support the local Project Engineering team as required during the contract implementation period.

7. Handle efficiently any after sales support issues to maintain customer satisfaction.

8. Awareness of competitor products and activities in region , and maintaining a customer database of western China.

Skills / Knowledge /
Experience

• Degree Level

-Preferably educated to bachelor’s degree level in a chemical engineering discipline, although this is not essential if good vacuum background is proven.

-Minimum of 3 years years working experience in application support roles in engineering ideally with a high technology company

- Strong background in petrochemical or bulk pharmaceutical chemical industry

- Proven track record in technical application support 3+ years

• Knowledge Areas:

  -Petrochemical or bulk pharmaceutical chemical process

  -Basic vacuum knowledge and General vacuum applications awareness

• Critical Skills

  - Influencing, communication, presentation and negotiating skills, both internally and externally.

- Ability to quickly understand various industrial manufacturing processes and the vacuum requirements

- Focus on Team Success, good interpersonal skill

- Sel-motivated with exellent learning ability

• Other requirements:

  -Excellent verbal and written English/Chinese required

  -Intensive traveling activity
