Position: Development and Engagement Officer, Human Resources Office

Closing Date: 21 September 2020


Qualifications

Essential

  • Good command of both English and Chinese;

  • Proficient computer skills (e.g. Microsoft Office) and in depth knowledge of data processing and analysis;

  • Strong communications and interpersonal skills;

  • Excellent presentation and writing skills;

  • Excellent planning, organisation and time management skills;

  • Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate staff;

  • A high degree of self-motivation.

  • Relevant knowledge and experience in Development and Engagement;

  • Knowledge of employment laws and regulations.

  • University degree in HR, Business, Marketing, Communication, English or other related discipline.

Desirable

  • Familiar with theories, models and technology tools used in the field of development and engagement;

  • Experience of working in an international setting;

  • Experience of project planning and delivery;

  • Knowledge and experience of using HRM system, e.g. PeopleSoft;

  • Overseas study experience;

  • Master degree in HR, Business, Marketing, Communication, English or other related discipline is preferred.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop, organize and promote staff learning and development activities in align with university strategy.

  • Plan, manage and promote staff engagement activities to increase internal communications and enrich engaging culture.

  • Liaise, communicate and build coordinative and collaborative relationships with internal colleagues/departments across the University and external partners/providers for the development and effective delivery of staff development and engagement programmes.

  • Review, develop and implement policies, procedures and practice.

  • Maintain staff development and engagement related records in order to analyze and prepare key data statistics and reports.

  • Provide support to the implementation and maintenance of HR system.

  • Assist the senior development and engagement manager in driving and delivering development and engagement strategic plans and projects.

  • Independently answer staff enquires and provide professional advices to junior colleagues for complicated and escalated issues.

  • Participate in training and staff development events as trainer or trainee as appropriate.

  • Undertake other tasks and responsibilities as reasonably be required.
