The candidate will need to have a “can-do” attitude and a willingness to accomplish great heights in our new GEMTE High-Performance Organization.

 

Under the direction of the Process Gases product manager support the following critical competitiveness product development initiatives to enable sustained cost reductions for the dry feed gasification product lines. Work includes:

 

• Lead the development of reusable designs in the SMART Plant suite of tools for deployment to global projects. Responsibilities include coordinating the Air Products staged product development work with Gasification Shanghai engineering and project execution team. This will be the primary focus of the development work for this position.

   

• Lead the development of other product improvements to dry feed gasification Product Line in the areas of integration of other HPO program improvements including but not limited to “Compete” specification and standards, “Streamline” Work Processes, and “EcoSys” Estimates into product line documentation improved.  Also lead improvements to product line reuse, design improvements, process cycle improvements, project execution improvements and processing of a project to product feedback items and product change eMOC’s for continuous improvement. 

 

• Lead the deployment of the dry feed gasification product into winning bids and projects.

   

• The above work will require the candidate to apply Air Products product development and continuous improvement methods and tools from concept development to commercialization. This will be done through leading cross-functional global teams including, AP management stakeholders, business areas, marketing, Beijing /Shanghai Engineering, Technology (R&D), Operations, 3rd Party alliance partners, and critical equipment suppliers.

 

 

Educational Requirements:

 

• B.S. Chemical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.

 

Experience (including knowledge and skills):

 

• Solid team building and communication skills with demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams.

   

• More than five years of design institute or engineering company, or coal gasification plant working experience and understands how to do design and standardization.

   

• Familiar with AP dry feed gasification or similar technology’s design work.

   

• Familiar with gasification project execution and commission & startup workflow.  

   

• This position requires the willingness, aptitude, and initiative to learn the intricacies of the SMART suite of tools (Smart Plant PID, Smart Plant 3D, Smart Plant Materials, and Smart Plant Instrumentation) to work with the cross-functional disciplines to effectively create, store and reuse product designs. Prior knowledge of Smart Plant Tools such as experience with SPPID in process systems engineering is preferred but not required.

   

• Knowledge of product development work process and continuous improvement tools preferred but not required.

 

• Fluent in English reading, writing and speaking.

   

• Self-motivated, contentious and detailed oriented.
