General Description:  Reporting to the EHS Manager, the EHS engineer is responsible for the consistent improvement of EHS compliance in support of SI’s ZERO EHS Impact Philosophy. The role is responsible for performing a significant set of activities to promote site wide integrated regulatory compliance in support of the site’s business objectives. The EHS engineer is an active participant in creating, cultivating, and embedding a culture of Continuous Improvement to further the SI Group Brand promise and SI Operational Excellence. An SI EHS engineer is also responsible for participating in developmental activities designed to stimulate individual and organizational growth.

• Ensures EHS compliance and continuous improvement in EHS performance

• Develop, Implement and maintain EHS management system policy, procedures, work instructions, rule and regulation requirement that developed or/and implement within the company.

• Make regular and spot site inspection to make sure the company’s EHS policies and procedures are well implemented.

• All departments and employees at all positions shall be urged to perform work safety duties, and assessments shall be arranged with recommendations on rewards and punishment.

• Provide the EHS training and refresh training for newcomers and employees according to the training matrix.

• Inspecting the work safety condition of plant, conducting screening for any hidden risks of work safety accidents in a timely manner, and offering recommendations for improving work safety management. Organize regular safety inspection according to regulations. Promptly report, correct to any unsafe action and unsafe condition present in work place.

• Permit work support and supervision, prohibiting and redressing any command against rules, forced operation at risk, or violation of the operating procedures, ensure employees follow and comply with EHS management system policy, procedures, work instruction as well as regulations.

• Responsible for management of solid waste, drug-making chemicals, PPE and EHS equipment.

• Help manage on site industrial hygiene, use EHS technical to improve site first aid & occupational health performance.

• Responsible for site fire system management, ensure full compliance. Update the ERP and organize the emergency response drill. 

• Responsible for managing all aspects of the site’s constructors 

• Working with EHS team of Regional Area for EHS excellence.

• Knowledgeable of local health & safety regulations, as well as, Maintenance of EHS management information platform required by government, complete all the tasks required by government with the support by EHS manager

• Maintain the information with authorities with the support by EHS manager

• Vigorously Track and report monthly metrics Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) as well as prepare technical progress reports on active projects and initiatives

• Satisfy all Corporate Quality Requirements and ISO9001 & ISO14001 Management System

• Practice Responsible Care Management System

• Other works assigned by EHS manage

Position Requirement

•    College Degree with an Engineering or Science major.
•    Three years of experience in chemical plant
•    Strong execution, reporting, presentation, and communication skills  
•     Language Skills:  English (read, written)
•     Software Skills:   MS Office and SAP
