Job Title: Business Development Manager (BDM) Greater China
Report to: Director PCA Greater China
Business Unit: DSM Nutritional Products
Location: Shanghai
The Purpose:
1. To discover and explore business opportunities with strong focus in China Personal Care market
2. To identify trendsetter ideas and screen business opportunity by analyzing market strategies
The Position:
1. Support and implement business objectives and relationship activities;
2. Identify market opportunities and work with teams to drive execution;
3. Prospect for potential new clients and turn this into increased business;
4. Cold call within the target market and geographic areas to ensure a robust pipeline of opportunities;
5. Own regional project pipeline and manage portfolio of projects;
6. Maintains records of all target client business development activity including contacts, communication and results.
7. Set targets for sales and provide support that will continually improve the relationship with existing and new customers
The Ideal:
1. Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in chemical or personal care business-related field
2. Master in business administrative or MBA degree is preferable
3. Know-how of industry and markets, products and/or applications
4. Minimum of 5 years’ experience with sales and marketing and/or business development preferably within personal care field
5. Strong motivation to thrive in handling objections to reach goals
6. Good analysis ability and skill with creating concept and solutions
7. Good prospecting skills and sales planning
8. Strong negotiation, organization, communication and presentation skills
9. Good Chinese and English communication skills
10. Balance of commercial and technical know-how, skills and experience
11. Good teamwork and excellent interpersonal skill, able to influence and establish successful working relationships with both customers and internal cross-functional teams
12. Proactive and creative attitude & mindset
13. Independent decision making capability
