The Cross-Carline Technology and Innovation Manager is responsible for technology and feature migration plans across APA carlines and markets to support Ford's brand pillars: green, safe and smart. The manager also leads total vehicle, program specific and feature-level innovation activities with cross-functional representatives.
Key responsibilities include:
?Own and develop the cross-carline product planning activity to conduct technical/business feasibility studies and product action proposals
?Act as a single point of contact to cross-platform representatives in Ford of Europe and Ford Americas
?Integrate APA into global technology cycle plan; meet technology cycle plan gateways & milestones with quality
?Identify "next big idea" feature and vehicle concepts
?Lead APA technology planning, coordinating across product marketing, finance, manufacturing, PD and product planning to make aligned recommendations
?Lead Total Vehicle Concept Innovation (TVCI) activities, including project plans, working meetings and management reviews, as well as high-level business case analysis
?Obtain and support consolidation / interpretation of consumer and market insight data
?Deliver APA TVCI <milestones> with consistency, quality and robustness
?Conduct relevant competitive intelligence gathering and analysis
?Develop and build a team of local national employees to deliver APA product planning and strategy needs
?Strong analytical skill and ability to organize data for team
?Flexibility to work on different cross-functional assignments as the need arises
Education Qualification:Engineering degree or Business Degree, MBA preferred
Professional Exposure:
Prior planning/strategy experience (e.g. product planning, business planning) and/or product program experience desired
Working knowledge of automotive product development process
Strategic mindset
Strong interest/knowledge of automobiles and the automotive industry
Strong interest in planning or advanced programs
Preferred previous experiences
Thorough knowledge/experience in Product Development
Experience in small and/or developing markets - ideally AP&A markets
Leadership Skills
Proven organizational and leadership ability
Highly motivated self-starter
High integrity with good attitude and excellent communication skills
Ability to work within a very diverse (culturally and functionally) environment
Flexible Mindset for urgent jobs/interactions with Senior Management
Flexible Working Hours (10 hrs regularly, 12-14 in some cases)
Ability and courage to effectively communicate key issues and recommendations to senior management
Functional/Technical Skills
Excellent interpersonal and project management skills
Broad product knowledge and process skills
Ability to understand both business and technical subjects/issues
Familiarity with Manufacturing/Marketing/Finance skills
Special Knowledge Required
Computer Skills (Microsoft Office) incl. data modeling using formulas
Skills Sets Required
Ability to effectively communicate to all levels of management in English
Communication/presentation skills required
Any Others
Flexibility for meeting schedules (early morning or late evening) due to the time zone differences with other stakeholders
Some international travel may be required
