DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Responsible for special Laboratory’s daily operation and business
2. Coordinate lab director and related department on oncology business
3. Coordinates with lab trainers on junior staff training and training program
4. Set up and implement standard workflow
5. Performs both external and internal quality controls to ensure that all instruments, reagents and work procedures are under controlled; identify instrument malfunctions and out-of-controlled test results, then executes corrective action
6. Calibrates, standardizes and maintains lab instruments and devices, establish corresponding procedures in the assigned areas
7. Establish the storage and retrieval guidelines for the data recording of instrument maintenance, assay calibration, regulatory standards and corrective action for instrument malfunctions.
8. Solve problems from physicians and nurses which related to laboratory tests, accepts complaints, and execute corrective actions.
9. Resolve lab related complaints and execute further corrective actions
10. Execute lab new staff training on laboratory techniques and quality control system
11. Review all policies and regulations of quality system and essential regulations related to accreditation
12. Develop and / or utilize orientation program, including laboratory policies and procedure manuals
13. Develop and initial quality standards, programs and standard operation procedures (SOP) in the assigned areas; monitor and maintain laboratory operations quality and performance of laboratory staff in a compliance with accreditation standards, bio-safety and environmental regulations.
14. Perform and Implement performance appraisals, which including assay methodology, protocol and technique that are able to match the clinical demands
15. Acts as an professional/technical authority on testing methods, procedures, laboratory operations, bio-safety, and staff training in the assigned area
16. Develop, implement and monitor in aspects of reagent preparation, sample labeling and storage guidelines
17. Assist lab director to monitor and evaluate operating expenses, statistics on the reagent cost within the assigned group in monthly
18. Assist lab director on business development
19. Responsible for the Proficiency Survey in the assigned area
20. Participates in continuous medical education that to keep department expertise up to date, and share the updated information in later department training
21. Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned from lab director
EXPERIENCES, SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:
1. Good management and communication skill
2. Ability to perform proficiency test, internal quality control and establish quality system
3. Have trouble-shooting ability on complicated cases
4. Ability to write/establish the SOP or policies for lab duties
5. Computer skill –Using computers and computer system to program and set up new functions for lab duties
6. Ability to supervise and train lab staff in organizing, prioritizing, and scheduling work assignments
7. At least 10yrs working experience in clinical lab after get bachelor degree
8. At least 7yrs working experience in clinical lab after get master degree
9. Management experience in microbiology & body fluid preferred
10. Knowledge or concept of tests related to clinical laboratory, especially in the assigned group.
11. Knowledge of tests principle and process for providing physician service.
12. An understanding of the underlying scientific principles of laboratory testing as well as the technique, procedural, and problem-solving aspects, especially in the assigned area.
13. Knowledge of maintenance, calibration, quality control and troubleshooting of instruments in the assigned area.
14. A general comprehension of the many factors that affect health and disease, and recognizes the importance of proper test selection, the numerous causes of discrepant test results (patient and laboratory), deviation of test results, and ethics including result confidentiality.
15. Correlates abnormal data with pathologic states, determines validity of test results, and need for additional tests.
16. Understands and enforces safety regulations.
17. Experienced in quality control programs.
18. Knowledge of accreditation and certification requirements and standards.
19. Knowledge of staff training, management in order to improve work efficiency within the assigned group
