Job Description

Technology / Roadmap

·？？？？？？？ Definition of research roadmap in the field of probabilistic DL and RL according to group and department strategy

·？？？？？？？ Coordinate the Tsinghua-Bosch joint Research Center research activities and ensure industrialization of research results.

·？？？？？？？ Initiate and conduct measures to realize this research roadmap, e.g. by buildup and supervision of a small team of researchers (e.g. via PhD candidates)

·？？？？？？？ Research strategy development as well as significant contribution to the Bosch-wide AI technology strategy with applications in all Robert Bosch technology domains Method development for product industrialization

·？？？？？？？ Development and implementation of novel machine learning methods with focus on Robert Bosch applications

·？？？？？？？ Evaluation and comparison of machine learning algorithms for real-world applications based on internal or publicly available data, e.g. in the domains future mobility solutions, electric driving, connected manufacturing, etc.

·？？？？？？？ Content-driven technological lead: set technological impulses, creation of new ideas & applications in the BCAI Research team e.g., via technical discussions, workshops, talks, etc.

·？？？？？？？ Product maturity: Development of AI technology at least up to a demonstrated PoC in a pilot application project

·？？？？？？？ Facilitate the Bosch needs / challenges collection and translate into research proposals, as well as the research result transfers back to Bosch GBs

·？？？？？？？ Regular publications on top-tier AI conferences and journals

·？？？？？？？ Support BCAI Research team publications e.g. by strategic conference/journal positioning, publication review

Academic Network

·？？？？？？？ Positioning of BCAI Research as a highly relevant player in the ML/DL/RL community, e.g., via university cooperation, conference contributions, publications, attraction of top PhD students

·？？？？？？？ Buildup of academic network: identification of potential collaboration partners, initiate and maintain active and sustainable collaboration

·？？？？？？？ Close contact to the scientific machine learning community, scouting and assessment of new approaches, publications on top conferences and journals

Qualifications

？

·？？？？？？？ Degree Level: Ph.D. with 3+ years of experience working on AI research

·？？？？？？？ Major(s): Mathematics, Computer Science, or related technical fields

·？？？？？？？ Broad knowledge of machine learning with in depth research on the focused areas

·？？？？？？？ Good communication skills in multi-culture environment

·？？？？？？？ Fluent in English
