DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1.        Monitor specimen collection, identification, transportation, storage and processing to ensure quality of specimen before analyzed.

2.        Prepares reagents, standards and controls according to prescribed procedures.

3.        Performs tests and sample analysis in clinical chemistry, hematology & Blood Bank, immunology and/or body fluid disciplines.

4.        Verifies test results prior to authorize.

5.        Performs quality control to ensure proper functioning of instruments, reagents, and procedures. Recognizes instrument malfunction and out-of-control test results, executes corrective action and reports to the supervisor.

6.        Performs equipment and instruments maintenance according to prescribed procedures.

7.        Resolves lab related inquiries from physicians and nurses, accepts complaints, and initiates corrective actions.

8.        Trains new employees the laboratory techniques.

9.        Gives training on lab test techniques or related diseases in laboratory.

10.     Participates in education class and continuing education programs. Learn new information instrumentation, techniques and procedures as assigned by the manager and group leader.

11.     Responsible for the Proficiency Survey in the assigned area.

12.     Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned from section leader and manager.

EXPERIENCES, SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:

1.      Ability to perform full range of chemistry, immunology, hematology & Blood bank and body fluid laboratory procedures.

2.      Ability to analyze and neutralize non-conformances between the clinics and laboratory.

3.      Ability to listening, speaking, reading and writing with English skill.

4.      Computer skill –Using computers and computer system to program and set up new functions for lab duties.

5.      Ability to write/establish the SOP or policy in related group

6.      Knowledge or concept of main tests related to clinical laboratory.

7.      Knowledge of test principles and utilize it to physician service.

8.      Understanding of the underlying scientific principles of laboratory tests, including the technical, procedural, and trouble-shooting aspects.

9.      A general comprehension of the various factors that could affect health and disease, also recognizes the importance of proper test selection, the numerous causes of discrepant test results (patient and laboratory), deviation of test results, and ethics including result confidentiality.

10.   Correlates abnormal data with pathologic states, determines the validity of test results and necessity of additional tests.

11.   Understands and enforces safety regulations.

12.   Experience on education of routine work.

13.   Knowledge of policies on ordering, storage and usage of reagents.

LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS: 

Chinese clinical lab technologist license is required

EDUCATION:

1.      At least 3yrs working experience after diploma degree

2.      Or at least 1yrs working experience in clinical lab after get bachelor degree
