Key Responsibilities

-       Assisting: Provide assistance to experienced teachers in teaching and learning, from lesson planning, design and creation of learning materials, providing in-class support, one-on-one tutoring to specific students, etc.  

-       Teaching: Plan lessons, prepare and teach/co-teach lessons in subject areas as agreed by Head (Professional learning) and subject mentor and HOD

-       Co-curricular/ Zhixing: Provide support to Zhixing program, including acting as Zhixing supervisors, Project Week leaders, sports event organisers, to promote experiential learning outside the classroom.

-       Residential: Provide support to Heads of Houses as a Residential Assistant in residential duties. This includes weekday checks, weekend duties, wellbeing curriculum, advisory activities, etc.  

-       Administration: Provide administrative support to faculty and staff in different departments, including the organization and marketing of school events, fieldtrips, etc. 

 

Support & Benefits 

-       The TI will gain professional experience as a UWC teacher, with the supervision, guidance and support provided by the Head (Professional Learning), subject mentor and other colleagues. The TI will receive valuable experience and advice on all aspects of being a UWC teacher, from academic to pastoral and experiential learning aspects of the role.  
-       The TI will work with the Head (Professional Learning) to co-design the specific elements and structure of their internship program, taking into account the TI’s needs and aspirations.
-       The TI will be assigned a subject mentor throughout the duration of their internship. The subject mentor will provide comprehensive support and guidance to the TI to improve their instructional skills in the subject area, from lesson planning, implementation of learning activities, designing and conducting assessments, in the context of the UWC Changshu Foundation Program and IB Diploma Program.
-       The TI will receive ongoing Professional Development through the in-house Professional Learning Program, as well as first aid training, and training in pastoral care and experiential learning and so on.  The TI will be provided free boarding on campus.
