About the Opportunity

BP Castrol China Technology Centre (CCTC) provides technology deployment for our industrial and automotive businesses in addition to product development for car engine oils and driveline fluids for the Asia Pacific region. CCTC is one of many technology centers that are a part of the global function, Formulated Products Technology which provides lubricants solutions and support for the Global Castrol Lubricants business.

Our paid 8 to 12 weeks internship program will run from early July 2020. Our internships give you an insight into the real world of business. You'll do real work and projects that that impact BP, our partners and our customers. While on the BP Internship, you will learn more about the energy industry from some of the top tier industry authorities.

The work is fast paced and technically demanding. Successful candidates will have a fulfilling and meaningful experience as part of a highly commercial organization.

What You will Do

You will be assigned to well-defined projects into one of the following areas: desktop study on technology mapping for cutting-edge innovation areas, Energy, E-mobility, Industrial 4.0 and Lubrication.

Individuals on the program will be responsible for commercial laboratory work to prepare industrial or automotive samples for analysis and performance tests. Your work would primarily involve supporting formulations or test plans through active mentoring from senior team members.

You will also get to participate in new development projects, lead on short term projects like market intelligence, insights, digitalizing data and also contribute to the continuous improvements of our processes and models!

What we look for

• Master's degree or PhD on Chemistry, Engineering, Material Science or related subjects. Statistical and digitalisation capability will also be valued
• We look out for candidates with good initiative, leadership, problem solving mindset, and market savviness.
• Candidates should possess excellent technical communication and presentation skills, in both English and Chinese languages with excellent interpersonal skills.
• Attention to detail in setting up programs and analysing results.
• Great team work player
