Tekelec is looking for a Java Software Development Engineer for Nanjing China R&D center. This individual will Join a high caliber technical team to develop world class Policy Control platforms for Cable, Wireline, and Wireless networks.

Role and Responsibilities:

• Design, development, and testing of networking and application software using Java.
• Collaborate with US-based engineering teams in software projects.
• Participate in the entire Software Development Life Cycle(SDLC):
• Requirement analysis
• Create functional specification
• Write design document
• Develop Java code and run unit tests
• Code reviews
• Provide sustaining support for customer issues.

Qualifications:

• Strong object oriented programming skills: minimum of 3 years experience required. Java is preferred, but is not required if there is a good fit with other requirements.
• Excellent English reading and writing skills. Good English oral communication is desired.
• At least 3 years of hands-on development in one of the following technical areas is required:
• Experience with server-side Java development or high-performance application development.
• Experience with networking protocols or networking software development.
• Experience or knowledge in following technical areas is preferred:
• Experience with Web based database application software
• Knowledge and development background in web-services (SOAP, XML), or web based technologies such as Struts, JavaScript
• Experience of Linux or UNIX environment development
• Experience of developing concurrent and high throughput software
• Experience developing highly available/redundant software
• Experience with database technology, including DB admin and DB application development using ORM.
• Experience in J2EE technologies.
• Experience in script programming, such as Bash, Perl, Python
• Strong communication skills required.
• Knowledge of software development methodology, build tools and product life cycle.
  Excellent team skills, can-do attitude, focus on quality and drive to make a difference in a dynamic, fast paced startup organization.
• BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent. Masters degree is a plus, but is not required.
