Tekelec is looking for a Software Quality Staff Engineer within the test group in our Nanjing China R&D center. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the overall test activities for Tekelec's Policy Server products.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Lead the testing of networking and application software system on time with good quality
- Participate the test activities such as plan, design, trouble shooting, issue report and verification, documentation drafting and review;
- Be technical expert in company product and comprehensive knowledge in testing methodology and tools. Guide the team of product testing.
- Actively search, acquire and invent new tools, technology and skills to add product innovation and competitiveness, to improve product quality and performance.
- Leading the continuous process improvement, and improve test quality and efficiency
- Collaborate with US-based management and engineering teams to coordinate software test activities
- Participate in Software Development Life Cycle(SDLC) as a quality assurance staff engineer:
- Work closely with other engineering groups to refine project plans and conduct requirement analysis/definition and clarification;
- Help customer support team and other field personal to handle field issue escalations.
- Coordinate with other functional groups in the company to provide technical assistance and advises.

Qualifications:


At least 8 years of experience of software (preferably in Linux) testing or development experience for commercial products
- Rich experience in software testing and development methodology and tools;
- Rich experience in Linux or UNIX environment testing and script programming, such as Bash, Perl, and Python.
- Rich experience in computer networking and TCP/IP
- Rich experience in test automation.
- Good at trouble shooting and problem solving.

At least 3 years of experience in leading software projects and teams
- Strong background at software development and test process
- Strong background at R&D risk management and resource planning activities
- Rich experience of guiding the team member to produce test plan, test cases and test report.

Industrial knowledge about related domains
- New technologies and marketing status of telecommunication industry.
- Experience or knowledge of architecture and framework design for commercial products or systems.
- Interoperability test with other manufacturers inside customer environment

Strong communication skills required.
- Excellent English reading and writing skills. Good English oral communication is desired.
- Excellent team skills, can-do attitude, focus on quality and drive to make a difference in a dynamic, fast paced startup organization.

Education Background
- At least BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent.
- Masters degree recommended
- Project management related certification is a plus

Optional skills and capabilities
- Experience with J2EE system testing
- Experience with networking protocols or networking software system test.
- Experience with real time and high-performance system test.
- Experience of testing concurrent and high throughput software
- Experience of testing highly available/redundant software.
- Experience with Java and System performance tuning and profiling tools.
- Familiar with the bug tracking systems.
- Web services/application (SOAP, XML, etc.) experience
- Relational database such as MySQL
- Quick learner, willing to learn
