职位描述

The position requires the candidate to be able to fill technical and business development roles related to Presales activities. You must possess the ability to articulate to the customer complex networking solutions in technical architecture terms and use case terms.

As a senior Optics Pre-sales Manager, you will assume responsibility for the provision of the highest level of Optics solutions architecture, expertise to promote the adoption of ION Optics products and solutions and development of winning strategies with account teams. You will need to have enough technical competence for solution support, architecture, product requirements, and future product strategy to promote adoption of ION Smart Optics Network and Carrier SDN domain solutions.

You will be responsible for providing technical leadership and consulting to customers and local Nokia teams, influencing customer decisions by providing thought leadership aligned with ION product direction, and working with regional PLM team for right influence on the roadmap decisions to match the need of our customers.

Responsibilities

  • Meet or exceed predetermined sales quota.
  • Develop or expand relationships with customer's engineering, architecture, planning, and procurement teams to drive the customer’s business and company strategy.
  • Act as technical pre-sale expert for new and on-going projects in Smart Optics Network area.
  • Presale support including building quotation (BoQ), dimensioning, network design, proposal, compliance, pre-sale testing support (leading PoC), etc;
  • Produce and deliver formal business proposals and presentations;
  • Seek out, identify, develop and recommend action plans to address new business opportunities with key telecommunication and service provider accounts according to overall strategy;
  • Obtain an intimate understanding of the customer’s requirements in order to influence the customer’s thinking to align with the Nokia Optics vision
  • Build effective, result-oriented, technical relations with both internal (other members of the team, product group PLM teams as well as sales team) and external (network engineering/planning, network architects, network strategy, network operations) teams.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrable knowledge on ION optical networking technologies, e.g. WDM, OTN, PTN, SDH, GMPLS, etc. Good understanding of optical backbone/metro/access networking, DCI, mobile anyhaul and transport SDN.
  • Expert knowledge in the optical domain, preferably familiar with Nokia 1830PSS portfolio and engineering planning tool (EPT).
  • Demonstrable knowledge on the presale activities, as described in the “Responsibilities” section. Tender project experience is preferred;
  • Ability to understand the customer’s needs in order to design the desired solution and dimensioning with BoQ outcome;
  • At least 5 years of technical pre-sales or post-sales working experience;
  • Proven ability to manage customer accounts in cooperation with CT in technical level;
  • Detailed knowledge of telco/carrier business models and service management strategies;
  • Familiar with other vendors’ Optical Network products (Huawei, ZTE, Cenia, Infinera, Coriant) will be advantaged.
  • Understanding of IP network architecture and IP/MPLS/SDN related product solution will be an advantage.

Skills/Experience:

  • Minimum of Bachelor degree in telecommunications, computer science or electronics, or relevant majors;
  • A proven track record of building long-term relationships with strategic carrier/telco accounts;
  • Excellent collaboration skills with a wide variety of people (product management, engineering, marketing);
  • Must welcome challenges;
  • Target oriented, and self-motivated;
  • Good oral and written communication, interpersonal skills and fluency in English.
