Main Responsibilities

-To ensure the zone operates to 6S, to ensure all employees in the zone are trained on H&S and operate within the H&S policy. To ensure H&S forms for product and available prior to commencing work and if not contact CVC and quarantine product.

-To ensure the standard operating processes and methods are used in the zone. To identify in detail quality issues and where possible contain or solve such as kaizen with the team or when needed raise to SIM3. To propose changes to standards SOP etc where they exist and identifies areas. Where no standard work exists create after approval from leadership ensuring authorization prior to use. Audits adherence of his zone to the standard work based on a standardized process at least once a month. Identifies abnormalities in the zone eg. Positioning of material, state of tooling, equipment, and takes action to correct it and return state to the standard.

-To work with cell leader or operations management to formulate capacity allocation, production schedules and materials requirement. To manage the zone to meet the output requirements. Ensure effective sickness and holiday cover through the allocation of overtime with the agreement of the Cell Leader or operations management. Assist in the supervision of workshop projects and facility maintenance activities. Maintain line side stock levels, liaise with the warehouse personnel.

-To manage the team to meet the effectiveness and materials required of the zone and identify and develop improvements involving mfg eng where method / tooling impacted.

-To lead the zone.Plan, Monitor, Deliver and control the training of employees to meet the business need for capability and capacity. Conduct team-briefing sessions with employees to improve the flow of information within the Zone. Ensure that the appropriate standards of behavior and performance are maintained within the Zone. To act as a point of reference for members of the appropriate team in terms of quality and technical matters.

-To ensure the zone is controlled to minimize energy and materials use and all waste is correctly dealt with to site standards.

-Ensures product and information is processed on time and to standard. Ensures SIM1 data is captured, leads SIM2 meetings daily (brings in other personnel as required), consolidates issues and ideas, and provides data to SIM3 and SIM4. Supports fellow zone members through active listening and coaching, respects others and shares and celebrates success within the zone and beyond. Demonstrates visible leadership by walking the zone at least 3x per shift. Proposes changes to any SQDCP metrics that are no longer delivering value

 

General accountabilities:

-Keeps his working place and equipment in order and in the line with the 6S system principles

-Shows active approach towards broadening knowledge and qualification

-Active approach to VTPS, BPI and partnership building

-Follows internal guidelines of the employer and generally applicable regulations

-Certificate in Technical Education or equivalent knowledge through experience.

-Minimum 5 years’ experience in servicing electro/mechanical systems. Experience in semiconductor industry is advantageous. 

-Able to speak and write good English is desirable

-An understanding of engineering drawings and circuit diagrams is required. Knowledge of electrical and mechanical equipment used in pumping or vacuum applications.

-Able to lead, motivate and supervise zone members to achieve targets.

-Possesses good basic organizational, leadership skills and communication skills.

-Understanding correlation of Zone and site objectives. e.g., OGSM and Zone KPIs

-Understanding basic elements of VTPS, and able to lead SIM2 meeting.

-Active listener and coach, respects others and shares and celebrates success within the zone and beyond.

-Understanding ITP process, and able to deliver skill training to technicians in zone.

-Proactive to solve problems using VTPS problem solving tools with team.

-Produces on time and to standard.

-Must be PC literate and be able to use windows driven software.
