Duties and Responsibilities:
The following duties are typical of the position, but are not all encompassing. Responsibilities include those required to deliver quality service on schedule and within budget in a team environment.
1. Leads the major design efforts for projects within the studio and mentors/assists other designers in their projects.
2. Has full responsibility for interpreting, organizing, executing, and coordinating large architectural assignments with overall responsibility for construction estimate, budget adherence, quality control, code compliance and inter-discipline coordination.
3. May plan and develop architectural projects concerned with unique or controversial problems by offering highly specialized knowledge and skills in a particular area.
4. Maintains liaison with individuals within and outside the firm, with responsibility for acting independently on matters pertaining to specialty field.
5. Receives supervision that is administrative, with assignments given in terms of broad general objectives.
6. May plan, organize, supervise, and review the work of a small staff of architects, and CADD designers working on the same assigned projects.
7. Leads client meetings to resolve important questions and to plan and coordinate a project.
8. Takes an active part in business development activities. Prepares contract proposals and participates in presentations.
9. Accepts or rejects major items involving materials, equipment, manufacturer's quality, and field construction.
10. Travel required
