JOB OBJECTIVES:
He/She is performing Studies and Conceptual Design for chemical plants with the focus on process technology supporting frontend-loading. He/She is preparing Capital Investment Projects to support the PM and /or EM with regard to general project/process issues. He/She will be assigned to project teams on request.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Act as Process Technology Expert to support project development and execution during study, frontend-loading and Design phase (e.g. organize meetings, inform and communicate with disciplines and Business Unit (BU), prepare schedules, discuss with vendors and contractors)

2. Review equipment design specification (layout/calculate/estimate) performed by team members and/or third party

3. Support in and/or Coordinate or supervise Process-Flow-Diagramm & Piping and Instrumentation Diagramms (PFDs & PIDs) made by team members or 3rd party . Develop master & layout plans ( incl.equipment arrangement)

4. Establish local know-how and market contacts in the process technology and share with other/new project teams and BASF's Technical Community.

5. Prepare and /or Support Engineering Manager/Project Manager (EM/PM) in challenging cost estimates and documents for project approvals according to localization and BASF standards.

6. Minimize investment cost and/or total cost of ownership by developing technological solutions for "intelligent & feasible concepts".

7. Organize idependently the process and/or technology transfer.

8. Provide manpower support to project and/or delegation to project team (organization and management of cost, schedule, documentation, quality, safety, etc.)

9. Supervise cost estimates according to BASF standards and/or provide consulting on cost estimate to third party (BASF engineering or customer)

10. Represent Owner interests towards contractors, vendors, construction companies, authorities etc.for the Technology and process/project parts

11. Coach and train team members

12. Leading a team of up to 10 persons within the BASF organization

13. He/She has to review process design

REQUIREMENTS:
1. Bachelor degree with major in chemical engineering, accounting or economics - Master degree preferable
2. At least more than 10 years work experiences in chemical and petrochemical industry
3. Open minded active, creative team-player and self-motivated.
4. Skilled in relevant software/tools like ASPEN (process simulation) or similar mandatory

5. Proficient spoken and written English and Chinese (mandarin) skills
