The sales project manager position lays the foundation for a successful solution-focused sales career. There is a path for growth within DS Smith for the right candidate that is willing to learn and work toward that goal.

The first 3 months we will train you at our headquarters in Shanghai. After these 3 months you will be responsible for your sales in your territory: South China, based in Shenzhen, Dongguan or Guangzhou.

Your first 3 months

· Learn the solutions of DS Smith and the processes of the team

· Learn the tools necessary to be successful: product info, CRM, ISO, sales toolkit

· Build relationships with suppliers, supply chain management, designers

· First introduction to our customers

Role Summary:

The focus of this role is building up a relationship with the assigned key customer and explore new potential customers. To do this you have to translate the customer's packaging needs into best in class packaging solutions. These solutions are based on DS Smith's TCO thinking that realizes increased sales, lower cost and managed risk for the customer.

Expectations of the role

As part of the DS Smith Business Development team China, the job holder will:

· Understand customer needs; identify, characterize and develop new business opportunities

· Support the ultimate value proposition specific for this market segment that will support focused customer offer development

· Define and lead progressive strategies that will build deeper and more insight-driven interaction with customers

· Achieve sales targets

· Manage existing key accounts develop new customers

· Implement global key value tools of DS Smith

· Coordinate multiple projects, together with other departments as project manager

· Support marketing activities for launch on website, email or social media

· Prepare calculations, monthly reports, and overviews

Must Have Qualifications & Attributes

· College or university degree (ex. Industrial Design School, Packaging Eng.)

· 3 years of experience of sales as well as preferable an existing network with decision makers of the industrial sectors (Pharmaceutical, Automotive & Electronics)

· Background in packaging industry related to corrugated, foam and or wood products

· Experiences with the solution minded packaging industry

· Analytical/problem-solving skills to manage multiple priorities and outline these to the need of customers

· Excellent communication, service and negotiating skills

· Microsoft-office knowledge, especially PowerPoint and Excel

· Understand the cost structure of supply chain flows

· Goal-getter, team player and communicator

· Fluent in Mandarin, Cantonese, and English (both oral and written)

-    为项目安排一位全球联络人,负责与客户方联络人商谈在项目涉及地区的所有相关商业条款;
-    管理所有与客户当地工厂和得斯玛供应商之间的日常行政、供应、运营工作(订单、订货、运输、发票等)。



为满足如此复杂的要求,得斯玛在中国新设运营点,作为“地区物流控制塔”统筹公司在华的上述营运活动。


DS Smith, a £3.9bn FTSE company, is a leading and industry recognised packaging
strategist (www.dssmith.com) within the European Electronics and Automotive industry. Our existing European Customers within these industries are used to having DS Smith design and supply industry bespoke high added value multi-material packaging solutions & services.

Facilitated by access to digital information and open trade routes, our customers can procure materials at the lowest price in one location and ship them to a location with low labour rates, as engineers in yet another location make product design decisions and procurement is on the other side of the globe.

Products are no longer designed, produced and sold in a single country/region: It is not unusual to see Design is in the EU, Procurement in China and Production of the same product, hence requiring the same packaging, in Mexico, China & Europe. Meaning that our customers expect DS Smith to adapt and change our game plan to have to optimum set-up to also now support them on global projects as follows:

-    Design a multi-material global packaging solution & ensure global packaging
performance governance: Packaging specifications, performances, colour
management, FSC etc.
-    Find, select, audit and qualify external packaging manufacturing partners in needed geographies, where DS Smith has no manufacturing capabilities, ensuring
compliance to customer’s standards
-    Have one Global central point of contact to negotiate all commercial conditions, with customer’s global counterpart, for the different geographies impacted by project
-    Manage all day to day admin supply operations (call-offs, ordering, shipments,
invoicing…) between local customer plant and DS Smith’s supplier.

As a result of this complex demand DS Smith has created a new operation in China, which acts as the “Regional Control Tower” and umbrella the above mentioned operations in China.
