Job Objectives:
Assist Occupational Safety Manager in the country platform to implement safety programs in BASF GC (Greater China), including organizing activities to raise employee OS (Occupational Safety) awareness for risks, to reduce and/or support avoidance of hazards and occupational illnesses in the workplace according to the general guidance established for Occupation Safety mandatory requirements plus Responsible Care principles and practices.

Main Responsibilities:
1. Perform Occupational Safety jobs in BASF Greater China on:
Responsible for maintaining global incident database in RCGC (Responsible Care Greater China) and developing incident lessons learned for sharing within all GC sites
Work related accident management including: Accident & incident investigation, reporting, improvement plan, implementation & reassessment,
Support newly acquired companies to meet BASF OSH requirement, especially in Permit to work system and risk assessment system
Collect and analyze the new requirement from Laws and regulation OS related
Site check, inspection, audit & risk assessment for BASF sites in GC
Assess existing OS procedure & WI with each safety rep of the sites & offices, identify weak areas and work with local teams for continuous improvement,
Organize & carry out OS training to related staff in production site offices per requirements
Conduct Raw material supplier EHS audit per request
Support safety events initiated from country, regional or global level

2. Follow up with each site on the implementation and improvement actions in their work areas to meet the safety standards established according to the applicable company.

3. Act as one of RCGC coordinator for all production sites in GC, to help them reduce workplace accidents through EHS procedure setup, safety training, inspection, correction and recycling assessment etc.

Requirements:
1. Education Level: College's degree or above, majored in Chemical Engineering / Safety or other EHS related.
2. Working Experience: Minimum 5 years working experience in production/operation of a chemical company, at least 3 years in occupational safety area.
3. Special Requirements/Skills:
Good safety and health, technical and chemical knowledge. Familiar with International and Chinese safety laws, regulations, codes and standards.
Good communication and presentation skills.
Strong learning capability and problem solving skills. Good knowledge in mandatory procedures and requirements, excellent knowledge of related standards, codes as well as legal requirements.
Fluent English skill in writing and reading.
Good Microsoft Office skill.
