JOB SUMMARY
The Buying Manager, China is responsible for leading a merchandising team on buying and assorting merchandise for Retail Stores in China, in accordance with corporate guidance and providing on-going feedback around merchandise needs. This position is required to establish strategic merchandise plans for sales, markdowns, inventory, and growth opportunity.
RESPONSIBILITIES
BUYING
· Formulating the buying strategy and overseeing the buying process to make sure each buy is done properly (quantity and styles) by assorting the line, analyzing history, and identifying volume drivers to maximize sales with guidance and collaboration with the Corporate Buying function for each store and e-commerce platforms
· Work closely with retail operations team on understanding each store’s preferences and needs and address the needs during buy. Collect collection and product feedback after each launch, ensure sufficient stock for best sellers and drive slow moving product sales.
· Be responsible for the merchandise distribution, stock allocation and merchandise reordering management together with planning and allocation team to ensure deliver the right product at the right place and right timing
· Work closely with Marketing & Communication in sharing buy strategies, quantity and key investment/stories to drive sales of each collection
· Localize product training material together with retail training team to ensure high quality level of core and seasonal product knowledge at store level
· Work closely with VM for the Windows to maintain a global image, in-store product rotations based on buying strategies and product focus to drive sales
PROVIDE FEEDBACK ON LOCAL MARKETS NEEDS
· Establish close communication and relationship with headquarter Merchandising Team in U.S. on feeding local market needs/trends and specific requests – line plan, hindsight analysis, collection feedback, buying recap, market brief and etc.
· Closely monitor local industry trends and competitor awareness in pricing, trend, quality and products offers both offline and online

· Foster a strong sense of leadership and teamwork both internally and externally
· Take on and complete any ad-hoc projects that may occur
EDUCATION, PRIOR EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS NEEDED
· Degree holder in Fashion Merchandising/ Business or related disciplines
· A minimum of 8 years fashion retail merchandising experience, in which 3 years in managerial level
· Previous buying experience in luxury fashion industry
· Strong planning, communication and presentation skills
· Sound business acumen and retail numerical sense, detailed mind with strong analytical skills
· Proficiency in MS Office Applications and advanced in Excel
· Excellent command in English & Chinese
