Key Roles and Responsibilities of Position

• Validate supplier tooling and equipment compliance to APA standards and specifications.
• Support supplier activities during design, build, and pre-buyoff phases with respect to quality, cost, and timing.
• Lead completion of tooling build buyoff book.
• Lead development of statement of work/request for quote packages
• Establish general tooling and equipment specifications to ensure common and efficient production equipment on all bodyshop commodities.
• Lead the implementation of common equipment standards for all plants; strive for commonization with other regions.
• Follow-up on vendor tool tryout material requirements and timing
• Authorize purchase orders for supplier payments up to TT build phase

Requirement:

• Education Qualification: BSME, BSEE, or similar
• Minimum 5 years experience required
• Launch experience is required, preferably through body tooling design, build, and buyoff phases. Experience working on specification packages for RFQs is preferred.
• Experience in development, maintenance, or verification of body construction tooling and equipment standards and specifications is preferred. Experience in facilities engineering or vendor interface (tool follow-up activity) preferred.
• Skilled communicator, both written and verbal.
• Good communication skills required for multi-cultural interface. Flexibility and creativity required to support standards applicable to multi-country facilities. Positive, open, and honest attitude required to identify and resolve issues.
• Strong knowledge about body construction specifications and standards in FNA or FOE is required. Strong knowledge of general body construction processes and tooling is required.
• Knowledge of body tooling timing requirements is preferred. Knowledge of bodyshop tooling supplier sourcing process is preferred.
