POSITION SUMMARY
Purpose

To plan and execute investments/executions of new projects from sub-region business aspect as well as assigned/new assets & customers management, to accelerate franchise development leveraging project/engineering knowledge and drive productivity projects / program.

Nature and Scope

The incumbent reports to North China Business Operations Manager. It is an important leadership position within the sub-region that is accountable for execution of new projects/investments in collaboration with Business Development, Operations (incl. Plant Project Org.), BDS, PDE, GEM/Engineering and M&A etc., including Tonnage Gases, Electronic Tonnage Gases and Generated Gases, as well as future assigned/new assets & customers management and support asset managers on accelerating franchise development. Responsible for monitoring & driving the progress of the productivity programs as well as leading/participating in cost/profit optimization effort across all product lines and functions in North China.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Accountable for execution of new projects in collaboration with Business Development, Sub-region MG Commercial, Operations (incl. Plant Project Org.), Supply Chain, BDS, PDE, GEM/Engineering and M&A etc., including Tonnage Gases, Electronic Tonnage Gases, Generated Gases (“onsite assets”) from sub-region business aspect;

  • Accountable for P&L of assigned and/or new onsite assets including asset operations management and serve as primary commercial interface for new customers by engaging multiple supporting functions e.g. customer relations & communication, AR/DSO, price escalation, contract execution etc.

  • Accelerate sub-region franchise development through coaching and supporting other responsible asset managers leveraging his/her project management and engineering knowledge and experience.

  • Support BOM to work directly with the sub-region functional managers & BB on driving productivity program/projects and profit improvement efforts for all product lines and functions.

  • Support BOM to assist sub-region GM on owning and executing strategic execution plans for relevant geographies, engaging sub-regional resources as necessary;

  • Other assigned tasks e.g. reports/presentations, ad-hoc business operations related work scope etc.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor or above degree is required in engineering, project management discipline, MBA degree is beneficial but not required
  • At least 8+ years working for MNCs in industrial gases, project management experience or engineering background are required, and process/operational knowledge & business knowledge/sense are a plus
  • Wiliness to travel 50% or slightly above of working days typically
  • Commercial and negotiation skills, as well as strong interpersonal skills with ability to effectively lead and influence in a matrixed organization
  • Strong result-oriented and positive attitude leader with leadership capabilities – disciplined, process oriented, efficiencies & effectiveness etc.
  • Problem solving and decision-making skills – decisions that reflect thorough evaluation of needs, goals, facts, etc., self-starter, capability of executing against a challenging mix of objectives rather than a known list of tasks
  • Integrity – act with integrity and in accordance with company ethics. Ability to confront behavior not consistent with company values
  • Sound logical & financial analysis, administrative and management skills is preferred
  • Expected to have excellent verbal & written communication in Mandarin and English.
