Job Description

The role of solution architect is to strategically design and implement in-house information systems and networked software architectures for smart city project, and assure their high availability. In addition, the solution architect provides technical leadership across different business units from making strategic decision to the project planning level, and also defines and implements IT policies, procedures, and best practices.

Responsibilities

·？？？？？？ Strategy & Planning

·？？？？？？？？？ Design and implement long-term strategic goals and short-term tactical plans for managing and maintaining smart city systems and software

·？？？？？？？？？ Conduct research on emerging technologies in support of systems development efforts, and recommend technologies that will increase cost effectiveness and systems flexibility

·？？？？？？？？？ Executed multiple projects in the Agile/Scrum development methodology and could play the role of product owner, scrum master and also coach other team members on agile development methodologies

·？？？？？？ Deployment

·？？？？？？？？？ Extensive experience in the end to end solution architecture, design, implementation, deployment and support domains for highly scalable, connected solutions and expected to work across all these domains

·？？？？？？？？？ Communicate with end-users and cross-business departments; provide developed identified development requirements to the system and infrastructure of smart city.

·？？？？？？？？？ Provide customizations of smart city solution for regional requirements together with the global development team

·？？？？？？？？？ Make recommendations for improvements and/or alternatives

·？？？？？？？？？ Review new and existing systems design projects and procurement or outsourcing plans for compliance with standards and architectural plans

·？？？？？？？？？ Negotiate and administer vendor, outsourcer, and consultant contracts and service agreements

·？？？？？？ Operational Management

·？？？？？？？？？ Confer with end-users and cross business units to define smart city requirements for complex systems and infrastructure development

·？？？？？？？？？ Develop and execute test plans to check infrastructure and systems technical performance

·？？？？？？？？？ Report on findings and make recommendations for improvement

·？？？？？？？？？ Excellent skills in the application development, maps/location based services, rules, decision making and application interfaces for desk top, tablet, mobile applications and application servers (Tomcat, JBoss)

·？？？？？？？？？ Proficient in network architecture design of data center

·？？？？？？？？？ Well versed network configurations (Firewalls, Subnets), Java platform tools and development tools (GIT, JIRA, JENKINS, Eclipse, Linux and Windows OS)

·？？？？？？？？？ Very good understanding of sensor to gateway/cloud connectivity solutions like GPRS/3G/4G, WLAN, WiFi, BlueTooth, Zigbee and 6LoPAN and ability to choose the right connectivity technology

·？？？？？？？？？ Excellent skills in driver development for edge sensors, device provisioning, protocols like MQTT, CoAP , XMPP, HTTP, gateway/cloud interface, data management, data streaming and building software for cloud readiness and high scalability

·？？？？？？？？？ Excellent skills in Java /JEE, Spring , SOA , REST, SQL as well as NoSQL (MongoDB, Cassandra)

·？？？？？？ Commercial Management

·？？？？？？？？？ Innovative and adaptable in a fast paced changing environment

·？？？？？？？？？ Excellent English is preferred

Willing to travel within China and Germany

Qualifications

·？？？？？？？？？ Extensive experience in developing strategic systems architecture plans

·？？？？？？？？？ Good experience in smart city projects is preferred

·？？？？？？？？？ ？Experience in vertical industry of transportation, video, residential, household and IoT is preferred

·？？？？？？？？？ Bachelor above is preferred

·？？？？？？？？？ Hands-on experience with business requirements gathering/analysis

·？？？？？？？？？ Proven experience in systems and network design and development

·？？？？？？？？？ Strong understanding of information processing principles and practices

·？？？？？？？？？ Strong knowledge of software evaluation principles and practices

·？？？？？？？？？ Proven project planning and management experience

·？？？？？？？？？ Exceptional understanding of the smart city project’s goals and objectives

·？？？？？？？？？ Superior written and oral communication skills

·？？？？？？？？？ Excellent architecture and technical support documentation skills

·？？？？？？？？？ Strong interpersonal and consultative skills

·？？？？？？？？？ Ability to conduct research into emerging technologies and trends, standards, and products as required

·？？？？？？？？？ Able to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment

Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
