Job Description

• Conduct research and pre-development of innovative powertrain systems and components for electrified vehicles

• Work closely with corporate research hub in Renningen, Germany on project activities and competence development

• Work？closely with business units to supply cutting edge and competitive technology solutions and to transform them to products

• Execute technology scouting in China/Asia covering both academia and industry in China/Asia for preparing strategic decisions

• Main responsibility includes

  • Pursue technology excellence by contributing brilliant ideas ？to new product concepts including patent filing

  • Prove innovation concept by pre-development including design, simulation, prototyping, test and validation

  • Support project activities to transfer deliverables to business units successfully

  • Manage suppliers and lab facilities for sample construction

Qualifications

• PhD or Master degree in discipline of Mechanical Engineering with minimum 3-5 years’ experience

• Expert knowledge and practical experiences in mechanical design, simulation, prototyping and experimental validation

• Excellent skillset: function design, structure design, structural analysis, and tools e.g. ANSYS, CREO

• Excellent communication skills, fluent in English (oral and written), German is a plus

• Good knowledge with certain level of experience on electric powertrain system and components e.g. inverter, electric motor, gearbox, as well as fuel cell system are preferred

• International education and experiences is a plus

• Efficient, goal-oriented, structured working style, experienced in project work

• Passionate for innovation; filed patents on qualified content during PhD or prior work is a benefit

• Strong team player; open to work in an international environment
