Sustain engineer – Software & Infrastructure

Key responsibilities:

• Responsible for researching, diagnosing and analysis root cause of software & infrastructure quality issues, assisting with departments(Commercial/Quality/RD) to define and implement required changes based on the needs of end users as well as facilitating engineering requirements of OD or PDP projects initiatives.
• Responsible for complete documentation of issue tracking justification and detail, presentation of recommendations for review / approval, and iteration of change process if required.
• Emphasis on problem solving techniques and an ability to work effectively with stakeholders in various departments as well as outside entities.
• Involve in change aspects of software maintenance, including data collection, analysis and writing sustain specification of embedded, cloud-based and PC-based software per Medtronic software development procedure.
• Interface with E&E and systems engineers.
• Some level of travel across China will be required.

Basic Qualifications Include:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering.
• 3+ years sound experience with cloud network or server software development.
• Hands on experience developing complex web-based systems.
• Strong background with Windows/Cisco/Linux platform and relational technology development including developing and testing.
• Use various tools to perform root cause analysis and reach the best available solution. Document and present the proposed solution and implement upon approval.
• Background with other contemporary software technologies including: C, C# or Java EE and Oracle/PostgreSQL/MySQL/MS SQL database.
• Software or network sustain practice and electronic experience is a plus.
• Broad understanding of basic manufacturing and production principals.
• Excellent problem solving and communication skills.
