Essential Responsibilities: (in conjunction with HP's global environmental compliance and strategy functions)

1. Tracking, evaluating, early warning and communicating proposed product environmental-related legislation, regulations and standards, in particular in the area of environmental certification, energy efficiency, climate change and carbon footprint

2. Tracking, evaluating and communicating Green IT procurement requirements in China market place. Generating preference for HP in regards to Green IT standards and requirements e.g. in China public sector

3. Satisfying legal reporting requirements applicable to HP products, consumables, packaging and batteries marketed and sold in the country

4. Supporting HP sales and marketing in regard to customer requirements for product environmental information and product certification, developing a best in class environmental sales support process for HP China

5. Monitoring and reporting on general product environmental market forces and trends in the country

6. Participate in shaping priority product environmental public policies and legislation together with HP Government Affairs Team

7. Support and leverage regional environmental certification to optimise the cost and timely delivery of product certification cross-business

8. Participate in a periodic review of China environmental programs with China business leadership. Engaging country management in a periodic review of annual program objectives, financial targets and performance results, align HP's environmental strategy to that of the HP China business

Qualifications

Qualification Profile:

Musts:

-University (BSc/MSc) degree in business or engineering, or equivalent combination of education and experience

-Minimum 8 years experience in IT industry or business development / project management leadership position in a major industry program based in China

-Demonstrated experience with leading cross-functional teams and programs with complex and diverse technical content,

-Experience in product certification work and understanding of China government agency structure in the area

-Excellent interpersonal, communication and influence skills

-Proven self-starter with excellent business judgment, problem solving, organization and networking skills

-Ability to represent the company and the company positions internally to senior management and externally to various stakeholders

-Demonstrated financial and business acumen

-Fluent in Chinese and English language, other regional languages an advantage

-Excellent data analysis and reporting skills

Desired:

-Experience with/personal interest in environmental issues

-Prior experience in working in the IT sector, knowledge of the industry segments, products and technology

-Prior experience in working in Asia-Pacific region

-Prior experience in working on cross-region programs / projects

-Knowledge of Asia-Pacific regional market, major customers and competitors

-Ability to understand and interpret legal documents and drive complex projects
