Scope of Role:

- To provide business planning and coordination support for the Head, Wholesale Bank Operations

- Establish and Maintain high level contacts with current Business and Support functions.

- To develop & manage the execution of Contingency and Continuity planning in WBO units and Branches.

Key Responsibilities/Challenges:

- Day-to-day business planning and coordination for WB Ops in China, including monitoring and tracking of key performance indicators and establishing and maintaining appropriate processes/mechanisms for efficient tracking and monitoring.

- Assisting in the development, updating and communication of the reports for WB Operations as well as the preparation of presentations.

- Assisting in the development and preparation of dashboards for business decision making.

- Coordination and facilitation of WB Ops Leadership meetings.

- Facilitating effective communication with SCB Group, Regional and Country Management Teams.

- Working with Function Heads, Regional Managers and various Support Functions within WB Ops, to achieve the stated objectives.

- Develop and update Contingency and Continuity plans for in WBO units and Branches.

- Management and coordination of specific business initiatives for the Head of WB Operations as required.

- Coordination of Health and Safety tasks within the WBO department in Shanghai and to conduct the required quarterly Health and Safety inspection.

- Develop promotion and marketing communication activities for WBO.

- Assisting Business Money Laundering Prevention Officer and Unit Money Laundering Prevention Officers in ensuring compliance with Money Laundering Prevention (MLP) and Know Your Customer (KYC) policies and regulations..

Qualifications & Skills

- Previous banking experience, with thorough knowledge of Cash Management and/or Trade products, their usage and operational procedures required to support service delivery.

- Strong change management, analytical, problem-solving and operational skills.

- Certain banking knowledge of other areas which interrelate with Cash Management / Trade Finance, and of Wholesale Bank Operations strategy and objectives with its related supported operations.

- Good understanding of IT principles, use of available systems and ability to maximize their usage as well as cost measurement tools to ensure this is delivered in a cost-effective manner.

- Excellent understanding and capability of process and re-engineering management principle.

- Strong understanding of customer behavior patterns and their impact on service required.

- Understanding of Total Quality and project management techniques.

- Ability to seek out solutions to multiple cross-product issues at any one time. Solutions to transactional problems are complex and often in higher risk areas. Solutions to procedural and organizational issues carry significant cost implications.

- Ability to evaluate re-engineering options and identify the best solution.

- Excellent communication skills in written and spoken English and Chinese.

- Excellent managerial capabilities and people management skills.

- Ability to represent the bank to external bodies.

- Able to motivate, develop and coach the team members to enhance their overall ability in both hard and soft skill.

- Strong problem solving skills.

- Energetic and able to withstand heavy workload and frequent travel.

- Independent and self-motivated.
