Primary Objectives – Motherson Innovations:
? To support the development and execution of product sales growth in line with Motherson Group capability with a focus on New Technology products being developed within Motherson Innovations.
? Engage directly with new and existing customers and industries to educate and inform them of product developments and gather direct market intelligence to feed our product development strategy.
? Support the Motherson divisional sales teams in converting new technology product prospects into booked production business.
Major Responsibilities:
? At all times operate safely.
? Always work to the highest possible standards in accordance with the SMG code of conduct and in the spirit of the Motherson group DNA.
? Seek opportunities in the relevant geographic market and customer base. Proposing market entry or business improvement strategies based on supporting business case.
? Analysing future trends and drivers (political, economic, social, technological) by e.g. attending technical conferences and trade shows, conducting market analysis
? Segmenting the market, projecting the growth
? Deriving market attractiveness and success factors
? Summarize and present research results to management.
? Act as the technical lead interface to the customer for new technology products to new and existing customers. Understanding customers and competitors (strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, threats).Educate customers and gather information and feedback from them.
? Grow the number of committed new technology sales leads in the Motherson Group International Sales Pipeline.
? Create and present high quality documents to inform the customers of our new technology capabilities. All forms of communication must maintain the highest levels of professionalism.
? Define the customer requirements to enable the MI team to accurately engage and quote for new business opportunities.
? Lead and direct the engineering team for pre-sourcing deliverables.
? Contribute to the business development and planning cycle.
? Educate Motherson divisional sales teams regarding new technologies.
? Domestic and International travel as required to support objectives.
Qualifications:
? Minimum degree level tertiary qualification in engineering/science (electronic knowledge priority, with mechanical knowledge preferred also)
? Minimum of 7 years of experience within a relevant commercial sales or engineering/R&D environment, within automotive or electronics industries.
? Excellent verbal and written English skills.
? Strong consultative and analytical skills.
? Excellent presentation and communication skills, both verbal and written.
? Flexible, imaginative and positive character, with strong teamwork skills.
? Ability to grasp technical concepts and communicate these concepts to the customer.
? Proficiency in all relevant IT systems and tools. Microsoft Office suite.
