Qualifications required:
-Seeking an individual to work as part of a small team to develop and sustain complex embedded hardware for new and existing protection platforms.
-The ideal candidate shall be a team player who can communicate at all levels.
-In addition, this individual shall be capable of defining requirements and creating design / test specifications for all design work undertaken in accordance with the defined project management framework; resolving complex design and manufacturing problems; technically managing outsource design projects; working closely with the global R&D hardware / software teams and industrialisation teams; and performing other related duties as assigned or requested.

Experience Required:
-Experience and knowledge in the following areas of electronic hardware design
-Digital/microprocessor is must
-Analog is must
-Power supply is advantageous
-The ideal candidate has excellent design skills in high performance computing board design. And have excellent FPGA design skills and ability to program using VHDL.
-Experience using Xilinx and Altera FPGAs for industrial controller architecture is must.
-Deep understanding in signal integrity and bus timing analysis, familiar with high speed design, such as LVDS, SDRAM/DDR, PCI, PCI-E, etc.
-Experience in the use of design/simulation tools to design for high noise and harsh environments. Candence/Modelsim/Hyperlynx would be advantageous.
-Good C programming skills for programming embedded microcontrollers and creating software test harnesses for the testing of hardware designs.
-Familiar with latest technologies of FPGAs/CPLDs, Memories, DSP/Microcontrollers, mixed signal and analogue ICs.
-Good understanding to deliver optimized and cost effective PCB designs .
-Good Understanding of the constraints imposed on the design and component selection by long product lifetimes.
-Management of component obsolescence issues.
-Application of relevant EMC and safety, an understanding of outside body approval requirements LVD, UL, CSA etc.
-Understanding of DFM and DFT.
-Understanding of FMEA, MTBF, Functional safety.
-Demonstrated ability to drive a small team, possessing the ability to motivate others to deliver high quality work.
-Proven ability to lead a design group from concept to release to manufacturing.
-Be able to drive open technical issues to closure.
-Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally in the development projects.
-Open, good teamwork and self motivated.
-7+ years relevant hardware design.
-Experience in T&D industry is big advantageous.
-Sensoring technologies such as ECT,OCT are big advantageous
