Myer Australia Pty Ltd had established sourcing offices in Hong Kong and Shanghai. We are looking to recruit Technician/Specialist in the apparel area for the Shanghai Office. This is an exciting opportunity and we are looking for passionate people to join our Business.

As the Apparel Technician/Specialist you will be an integral part of the Quality Department reporting to the Quality Supervisor in Shanghai. Your key responsibilities will be to ensure samples meet the required standards and provide solution to any quality issues that may arise, monitor production status and bulk qualities. A key part of this role is to provide technical advice to Merchandisers, suppliers and our end customers. Monitoring the performance of the suppliers / factories and ensuring the product returns are within industry tolerances.
 

Key job tasks/duties/responsibilities:
? Assess samples to ensure they meet the standards as per the specifications
? Provide written reports including solutions to quality issues
? Ensuring Products meet the mandatory merchandise compliance requirements
? Ensure effective processes are in place to minimise the company product liability claims
? Regular training to suppliers to make sure the Myer quality standards are always maintained
? Provide technical advice to Merchandisers, suppliers and other customers
? Monitor production status and offer immediate assistance and support if require
? Bulk quality inspection and on-site monitoring
? Communicate with suppliers on all technical issues
? Monitor supplier / factory performances and communicate back to the Merchandisers
? Work closely with Australian Quality Assurance Team to maintain a high level of merchandise acceptance

To be successful in this role you will need:
? Demonstrated experience working with manufacturers, suppliers, or distributors
? Excellent written and oral communication skills
? Good communication skills to enhance supplier and buying office engagement
? Proficiency in Microsoft Office
? Experience in quality management systems
? Experience in manufacturing and production audits
? Ability to develop a working knowledge of relevant legislative requirements
? A high level of attention to detail
? A confident and proactive work ethic
? Strong organisation skills
? Ability to prioritise workloads
? Tertiary qualification, degree in the related discipline, or at least 2 years prior experience in Quality Assurance related to consumer products
