Design Specialist, Interior and Ambient Design

KONE Technology organization has global responsibility to research and develop new technologies that enable development of innovative new products.

We are looking for an experienced/senior Design Specialist, Interior and Ambient Design to join our award winning design team in China, Shanghai.

In this position you will be developing interior and ambient design capability in KONE R&D unit in China. Your primary role is design specialist. Essential part of your daily work is designing yourself and coaching other designers in the team. You will be reporting to local and global design managers. Communication language is English. We expect willingness to travel to other R&D units when projects are global.

Your key responsibilities include creating novel interior design concepts for elevators. You will work together with industrial designers and engineers. Good collaboration skills are essential. Your designs have tangible value for customers and you are able to articulate this verbally and in presentations. You manage your own work and schedules effectively.

We require
Minimum 7 years’ experience of Architecture, Interior or/and Furniture design
Released products and/or finished projects in portfolio
M.A. or B.A. degree in architecture or interior design (in design college or university)
Ability to work in iterative design processes from concept design to implementation
Strong 3D modeling skills, preferably Creo
        Excellent skills to present and justify design solutions
Experience of mock-up making and prototyping
Experience in lead designer role
Experience in project planning

Fluent written and spoken English
Market knowledge of Asian countries
