Report directly to the MR&Coding Manager

Summary of Responsibilities:

The role assigns and sequences medical diagnostic and procedural codes using a universally recognized coding system to meet clinical service and documentation including HIS needs, monitoring and verifying medical documentation activities for data accuracy and compliance.

Qualifications:

College or equivalent degree of Medical background. healthcare discipline preferred

Majored in Medical English and Nursing an asset.

Ability to work independently and able to meet deadlines.

Ability to handle confidential material to safeguard patient/client privacy.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.

Previous working experience in private healthcare settings.

Knowledge:

Knowledge of both the medical and business sides of health care are essential in this detail-oriented field of health information management

Knowledge of anatomy, medical terminology, CPT and ICD coding required

Good understanding of Chinese health insurance coding protocols

Responsibilities::

Provide medical coding assistance to all Jiahui clinical service lines

Accurately capture all CPT and ICD-10 codes to the highest specificity while adhering to international guidelines; assign and maintain medical codes with clear logic

Provide feedback to MR Manager on provider documentation trends and provider training

Maintain compliance standards in accordance with the MR compliance policies.

Monitoring and verifying coding activities for accuracy and completion based on documentation and coding policies/regulations to the hospital wide.

Prepare monthly coding error and omit report.

Maintain a 90% audit score

Perform EMR medical record inspection and audit

Participate in creating and maintaining the criteria of medical record documentation review according to Health Bureau and Jiahui medical record requirements.

Produce the MR quality review reports to MR Manager on a monthly basis.

Support indexing inpatient medical records for record keeping and archiving.

Other MR relative duties as assigned by that MR Manager.
