Summary of Post:
- Leadership and functional management of a regional Application Engineering team located in mainland China (and maybe Hong Kong) supporting the MaxTouch Capacitive Touch Product lines.
- Manage the China Customer Design-in pipe.
- Provide reporting and tracking of customer design-in projects to the MT.
- Ensure projects undertaken follow the Design-in process.
- Drive local Business development for Customer projects working closely with regional Sales and Marketing.
- Cooperate closely with Marketing, regional sales, FAE’s and Engineering Product lines to facilitate timely and successful delivery of customer projects.
- To propose and create software and hardware solutions in support of Customer projects
- Participate in technical/commercial meetings with Customers and Partners.
- Build productive relationships with key customer and Partners to support the business.
- Develop the local processes to support the China business requirements.
- Recruitment and competence development of the regional teams aligned to the business and strategic needs.
- To provide customer demo support for sales and trade shows.
- Stay up to date with the latest developments associated with capacitive sensing and related Human Interface technologies.
- Specification and development of reference platforms with key Partners.
- Preparation of Application Notes and customer collateral generation.
- Perform Product competitor analysis.

Duties:
- Participate and take a Lead in technical/commercial meetings with Customers.
- Provide expert Capacitive Touch sensing know-how for Customer projects as required.
- Disseminate technical information & inputs from customers as appropriate.
- Participate in internal team design reviews as appropriate.
- Facilitate PCB layout, modification and prototype construction of Customer projects as required – taking the lead as appropriate.
- Support existing products using Solomon evaluation tools and know-how.
- Develop & maintain thorough knowledge of Solomon products, their application and competitor positioning.
- Provide reporting and tracking of customer design in’s to management.
- Ensure that any projects undertaken are properly documented, from the initial ‘definition & deliverables’ stage, through to completion, hand-over and closure.
- Multi-cultural management experience will be needed and willingness for frequent internal and occasional international travel.
- Ability to grow the current organisation and WOW/processes to support the business requirements.

Position/Skill Requirements:
- Ideally will have a sound microcontroller background (8-32 bit) including an understanding of basic peripherals UARTS, I2C, ADC etc.
- Experience of software / firmware development using C, assembler is desirable.
- Experience of hardware circuit design (Analog & Digital) is essential.
- Mechanical and electro-mechanical applications experience a positive.
- Good Presentation & communication skills essential.
- Customer facing experience essential.
- Project management experience and ability to multi-task.
- Multi-site management of regional design-in teams.
 
Personal Qualities:
- Self-motivated, Passionate with the ability to work in a cross functional and cultural team.
- Able to work independently to solve customer problems at their location.
- Able to work under pressure and adhere to strict deadlines.

Education & Training / Ability
- BSEE, Computer science, or relevant.
- Must have 7+ years relevant applications experience.
