Job Title - Supplier Quality Manager
Report Directly to: Senior Quality Director (located in US)

Dotted line report to: Global Sourcing Director

In this position, you will be part of our Global Sourcing group,China whose primary responsibility is to successfully deploy Global Sourcing Strategy in China. You will work closely in a multi-disciplinary multi-cultural team composed of individuals from Procurement, Engineering, Supplier Quality, Material Planning departments and Supplier base. You will also need to mentor and lead SQE team to meet KPIs as PPM and OTD. The position requires Leadership, Autonomy, Team, Results oriented spirit and willingness to travel regularly regionally in China (Up to 75% of travelling) as well as United States occasionally.

In this position the detail of your responsibilities will be:

· Establishment of supplier rating system for supplier base in China and maintain/improve the supplier base to strive to the PPM and OTD targets
· Mentor and lead SQE team and development skill and experience level and set up the career plan accordingly for SQE individual with assist from senior quality manager
· Direct involved and manage one most critical supplier on development/improvement
· Research and understand desired Quality, Engineering and Manufacturing Process requirements on each of the sourcing programs in China
· Evaluate and Recommend potential supplier and its tiers in regards with their
o Manufacturing process capability review
o Engineering capability review
o Quality Management review
o Quality systems compliance
· Lead Supplier Development activities on specific sourcing programs such as
o Design reviews
o PFMEA
o Process flow chart
o Control Plan
o Process capability studies (Cpk)
o Engineering samples (OTS)
o Pre-production or run at rate trials
o Production Part Approval Process (PPAP)
· Lead and be fully accountable Supplier Quality Assurance activities such as
o On site production inspection
o Corrective action request and root cause analysis (8D report)
o Periodic Supplier audit, scorecard and continuous improvement plan


Skills

· 3+ years metal forming and precision machining experience or managing machining supplier · Good oral, written communication and interaction skills with persons of varying educational and cultural backgrounds
· Exhibit self-direction and self-motivation
· Excellent organizational, project management, time management, interpersonal, analytic and problem solving skills
· Strong professionalism, leadership and negotiation skills in good and adverse situations.
· Computer proficiency and knowledge of Microsoft suite of products (Outlook, Excel, Powerpoint, Word)

Required Knowledge and Working Experience:

· Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
· Minimum of 3 years work experience in automotive or from similar product industry (Casting, forging, stamping, high end machining components or system assemblies)
· Minimum of 5 years experience in Supplier Quality management (SQE or SDE)
· 2+ year experience in SQE team management
· Knowledge of Quality systems such as ISO14001, ISO9001, TS16949 or AIAG/PPAP process
· Fluency in Mandarin and English is essential
· Frequent regional travels and participation to conference calls with internal overseas customers is mandatory.
· Experience on fuel system will be a plus
