Description
The End of Line Quality Assurance Manager is a key position in HP's Printing and Personal Systems group (PPS) . The primary task is to manage all aspects of ODM End of Line Quality activities.
The ideal candidate will have a solid technical background in Electronics PC Manufacturing and Quality Management. The End of Line Quality Assurance Manager will be responsible for coordinating End of Line Quality and Process Improvement (CI) initiatives across the HP ODM's.
This person will also participate jointly with other HP Engineering Managers in process improvement events at various ODMs. He/she is responsible for leveraging processes and executing process overhaul and/or upgrade programs for PPS at the ODM level.
In addition, the HP ODM End of Line Quality Assurance Manager will take responsibility for coaching, functional training, communications, base lining, and identifying and transferring best practices to the ODM Quality Team.
· Act as an HP consultant for the ODM's to lead, define, and develop Quality and continuous improvement activities at the ODM's.
· Lead a team of Quality Engineers to audit, identify and implement opportunities to improve manufacturing quality of HP Product.
· Plans and coordinates auditing with others who will support the HP Process Improvement initiatives.
· Leads problem-solving efforts to improve quality and eliminate waste/cost of poor performance at the ODM level.
· Applies analysis to improve process capability.
· Designs, drives, and performs operational analysis of manufacturing processes. Drives and tracks these projects to successful completion.
· Documents and institutionalizes using controls and scorecards to ensure lasting project benefits.
· Identifies and leverages best practices across the organization.
· Identifies key elements of process improvement and partners with process owners to deliver sustainable and repeatable change.
· Develops and prepares metrics and related reports.
· Conducts regular and periodic audits for PPS.
· Facilitates the development of action plans to variances as identified through the audit process.
· Provides technical direction/guidance to personnel as required.
· Functions as the ODM Quality and Continuous Improvement champion regarding tasks, projects, and operations.
· Networks and shares best practice with other ODM's
Qualifications
Qualifications:
· Bachelors degree in engineering (Industrial / Mechanical / Electrical Engineering) or equivalent work experience
· Ten years of related experience in a manufacturing environment, including three years related engineering supervisory experience
· Specific Education and Training in Quality Disciplines including ISO9000, Continuous Improvement, Lean-Six Sigma, and Total Quality Management
· Experience as a manufacturing engineer and/or a quality engineer
· Experience in PC assembly and electronics manufacturing
· Familiarity with trends in the EMS (electronics manufacturing services) industry including latest technologies, process improvements, failure analysis methods, testing methods, gear sets etc
· Experience with leading internal and third-party audits for ISO 9001, ISO 13485 or AS9100
· Thorough understanding of quality principles, philosophies, and tools
· Effectively interacts with people within and outside of the organization in a professional manner
· Exceptional ability in using office productivity tools such as MS Office applications such as Excel, Word, Powerpoint, Visio, Project etc.
· Must be able to read, write and communicate in English and Mandarin Chinese
· Demonstrated strong and effective communication skills; written, oral, and inter-personal.
· Ability to multi-task, work independently and employ effective time management skills.
