In this role as a Senior Reliability Engineer you will be responsible for coordinating and leading reliability related activities at ABB Beijing Drives with focus on single drive products <1000 v,="" 0…500="" kw.="" your="" practical="" and="" theoretical="" experience="" from="" the="" field="" of="" electric/electronics="" allows="" you="" to="" take="" a="" reliability="" specialist="" role="" in="" r&d,="" and="" support="" reliability="" related="" activities="" of="" other="" departments.="">


Key responsibilities:

? Member of Drives R&D department, reporting directly to the Low Power Drives & Automation R&D Manager.
? Defining and executing the reliability strategy for drives products
? Defining and developing reliability design competence in R&D department
? Coordinate and follow-up reliability related actions cross functionally
? Reliability planning for R&D projects
? Developing Drives reliability engineering processes as part of the global organization
? Planning and following-up reliability tests and tester investments
? Supporting and participating in root cause analysis of field quality issues

? Master degree in Power Electronics, Electrical/Electronic or Automation Engineering is preferred
? 5+ years of experience in design or engineering related to electrical/electronic products
? Strong experience in reliability testing/engineering
? Experience of electronics product failure modes
? Strong analytical and problem solving skills
? Ability to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities
? Independence working, initiative and organizational skills
? Good team player with the ability to coach and mentor other engineers, proactive attitude, cross-functional (indirect) people management skills
? Fluent Chinese and English, spoken and written
? Willingness to travel domestically and internationally, few weeks per year
? 10+ years of professional experience. Ideally with design or engineering of power electronics products
? Strong expertise in frequency converter drives
? Experience in designing and running reliability tests such as ALT, ORT and HALT
? Experience in design for reliability methods (DFR)
? Understanding whole value chain in product quality and reliability in electric/electronics product design and manufacturing
? Management experience, for example as team leader
? Experience of working collaboratively across functional boundaries and geographic locations
