Job Purpose
This position is responsible for providing a full range of engineering expertise as required to support the objective of effectively and efficiently constructing, commissioning and operating all project related electrical and automation equipment and utilities. The services provided cover all phases of heavy industrial plant engineering, typical of the metals industry and are usually Electrical, but the incumbent must possess an understanding of process control, mechanical and civil components involved in the project by utilizing and working with others. The majority of the work will focus on the initial Engineering, Construction and Startup of a new Greenfield facility.

Job Context & Major Challenges
The major challenge of this position will be working with Project personnel on matters such as: basic and detail design, field engineering, equipment installation and commissioning and ensuring high levels of equipment reliability. Considerable contact will be required to correct equipment problems or to modify equipment functions. Government regulations are changing constantly, so keeping abreast of them is a constant problem.

Principal Accountabilities
Project Engineering
? Provide competent and timely engineering support for all site Electrical and Automation equipment, systems and utilities.
? Develop practical solutions to field engineering changes, while maintaining the Project Schedule and Budget guidelines. Ensure documentation is revised to reflect design or field changes and “as built” drawings are completed.
? Ensure General and other contractors provide the desired level of professional competence in the handling and installation of equipment.
? Contribute engineering expertise to the selection of new equipment to help ensure consistency and standardization of components and ease of maintenance or repair throughout the plant.
? Ensure all equipment recommended, repaired or modified meets all company and governmental safety and health rules and regulations to help ensure safety and well being of employees.
? Assist in the development of engineering or maintenance procedures.
? Expand, continually, knowledge of engineering and maintenance principals and practices.
? Lead the implementation and maintenance of a Quality System.
EHS
? Establish and enforce policies and practices required to provide safe equipment, a safe working environment and safe work practices.

? Assist in the development and promote EHS policy, implement the EHS management system and ensure continual improvement of EHS performance in day to day operations.

？ Maintain good housekeeping and safe working conditions at all times.

Skills/Knowledge Experience
Education
Required: Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering
Preferred: Heavy Industrial Project Engineering experience; preferably in the metals industry. Preference in the CND Industrial Park or working for US based companies
Experience
A high degree of initiative, self-motivation and willingness to take on new challenges is required.

? Personal traits should include the ability to utilize human relation skills to motivate, train, understand, and develop others to attain the objectives

? Ability to organize and prioritize workload; must be able to manage multiple tasks at once without sacrificing attention to detail
? Must be flexible and able to operate in a fast-paced and demanding environment
? Solid computer skills with software applications proficiency, including strong AutoCad and Microsoft Office skills. Ability to learn new software programs quickly
? Must also possess leadership skills to direct, lead and develop other personnel to accomplish personal, plant and corporate objectives. Ability and desire to lead large capital and maintenance projects.
