1. Purpose of the Job:
- To contribute to the growth and profitability of Edwards through the value-selling process of DP and EGM product and launches of New Product Introduction, in accordance with the agreed DP and EGM Product and Customer Account strategies.
- To support Customers, Sales, Applications, Service and other Edwards functions in Taiwan by managing and providing DP and EGM product knowledge and technical presentations.
- To work cooperatively with the Application team to identify new product or applications opportunities and to set up some close working partnership with end users leading to new opportunities.
- To implement problem-solving processes in China organization throughout Semi / FPD / Solar / LED market, and work with the Field Service organization on the improvement of product reliability at customer sites, and reduce Cost Of Ownership to our customers.
- To provide feedback on detailed, real applications experience in the field and product performance issues to the Product Divisions and to implement solutions based on feedback from corporate.
- To contribute to management of commercial risk and limit exposure to undue failures & subsequent warranty claims, which are adverse to our reputation (and Costs!).
- To provide professional products presentation to customer. Provide professional product analysis information to support sales bids.
- To provide product strategy by working closely with PD, RBM and sales team.
- To provide competitor analysis report regularly
2. Principal Accountabilities:
- Work closely with sales to generate/execute strategy to achieve budget. Includes executing NPI initiatives as laid out by Regional Business Manager, customising product technical presentations for case by case, and recommend the right product and accessories for applications by process and recommend setup for better reliability and performance so as to ensure customer satisfaction and to limit exposure to undue failures & subsequent warranty claims.
- Be part of the Product Management peer group. Work closely with PD Product Manager to ensure availability and readiness of materials such as generic presentation materials, market share, installation database, product capability, product limitation, product variants, performance specifications, applications suitability, CoO spreadsheet, instruction manual, maintenance requirements, PM intervals, consumables requirements, information on other beta-site or L&E trials, issues, etc.
- Champion Edwards product by defending and promoting product technology and its integrity. Convince customers to implement Edwards solutions in field process and applications related issues.
- Coordinate new product Beta Site Evaluation to ensure successful qualification and enhance product reliability. Will involve co-ordinating activities with customer, defining experimental parameters and data acquisition, managing project reviews and providing input towards product modification and improvement of new standard product.
- Establish strong professional relationships and a high degree of credibility with customers by providing advice and solutions to their problems and by supporting meaningful technical partnerships with various key customers
- Communicates knowledge and understanding of customer processes, and scientific issues pertaining to the application of Edwards products to customers’ technology to all relevant functions (e.g. marketing, sales development, technical) such that response time and quality of response are continuously improved.
- Deliver technical presentation to customers, particularly on details of product improvements in design, technology, applications and safety. This should be presented as enhanced solutions and value-added services from Edwards.
- Contribute towards providing data on the effective operation of Edwards’ products in a given application such that a single comprehensive source of company technical knowledge may be created on a master database in order that this database can be used as a basis for making commercial decisions.
- Where such data is not available, supports programmes of activity with customers, which ensure that such data can be systematically acquired over a defined period.
- Coordinate and participate in solving difficult product issue problems. Includes undertaking field works, as necessary, to investigate customer application issues in order that acceptable solutions can be evolved, using a scientific approach with an emphasis on fundamental understanding.
- Crisis management of product & applications related issues that threaten Edwards positions. Lead local customer interface and champion Edwards products by defending product integrity thru’ customised presentations.
- Provide consultant advice for continuous product improvement on customer sites e.g. assess and modify PM work for product set-up to enhance product reliability and customer satisfaction. Includes resolving technical and applications issues with OEM so as to enhance opportunities for Edwards products.
- Support the Field Service function by providing training and guidance in developing a systematic trouble-shooting approach when solving difficult applications problems.
- Is alert to and avoids unsafe behaviours and conditions or other hazards. Reports any observed hazards immediately to management. Participates in corrective measures when appropriate or authorized. Lead local Safety and/or product incident investigations.
- Becomes familiar with and practices all safety procedures. Seeks clarification or additional information when required. Strictly adheres to requirements for PPE and all safety rules.

3. Knowledge, Skills, Experience Required:
- Master or Bachelor Degree in a Science or Engineering discipline; Master is preferred.
- A minimum of 8 years’ experience in the semiconductor industry, with sound knowledge and experience of Edwards Dry Pump and EGM products.
- Proven ability in Sales or sales support role with experience in managing product knowledge and technical information
- Good inter-personal and communication skills to build sound relationship with the Product Division and the customers.
- Strong presentation and influencing skills, both verbal and written.
- Maintains intellectual property awareness.
- Ability to work under pressure, provide support to sales and customers.
- Good appreciation of major OEM process tools and competitors VEMD product.
- Generate products strategies by working with PD, RBM and sales team.
