Responsibilities:
To work with Engineering team and space team, responsible for interior and decoration projects and works.
1. Conduct and oversee the new, alteration and refurbishment works, feasibility schemes, contract drawings and documentation, specifications description, budget control and so on;
2. Provide all documentation (specification, drawing, H&S Plan) relating to all works and schemes to ensure all are current and readily available;
3. Monitor and maintain records/reports to meet projects’ technical requirements;
4. Manage resources/budgets for projects, preparing budget statements and forecasts and sharing with others decision making that impacts on the level of allocation or efficiency of the resources of Estate Office;
5. Manage adherence to Health & Safety Regulations, and compliance with University, departmental and external, standards, policies, procedures and codes of practice;
6. Explain and develop an understanding of legal/regulatory/procedural information or other complex issues/solutions to customers;
7. Ensure professional and quality service standards are maintained and applied to projects;
8. Co-ordinate internal and external consultants to achieve successful outcomes;
9. Liaise, communicate, negotiate with client, end user, department staff and public at all levels including the promotion (externally) of University developments
10. Represent the University and Estate Office to other parties (internally and externally) at all required levels;
11. Undertake and utilize training and development to enhance working skills and knowledge of self and team, to improve service delivery;
12. Fully conversant with and competent to use all systems and equipment in area of work;
13. Keep the Estates and others informed about work status of issues that may impact critical University operations or strategy;
14. Overtime work at weekend may be required;
15. Participate in training and staff development events as trainer or trainee as appropriate;
16. Maintain appropriate professional development, expertise and awareness;
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor degree or equivalent from Civil, Structure, Architecture, Interior Design, Project Management, Mechanical, HVAC, Plumbing or Electrical; Master Degree is preferred;
2. Experience on building or interior design project experience;
3. Ability to prepare specifications and budget for building work;
4. Working knowledge of building contracts;
5. Understanding of various procurement methods applicable within the construction industry;
6. Production of drawings using Auto CAD;
7. Conversant with Microsoft Office;
8. Must be able to communicate in English;
9. High attention to detail and excellent follow-up and organizational skills;
10. At least 3 years working experience in construction project management or Facilities management;
11. Delivery of projects within budget, in timescale to the satisfaction of all parties, both internal and external;
12. Understanding of relevant Health & Safety Regulations and policies;
13. Ability to communicate effectively at all levels in a clear and concise manner;
