职位描述
Job Title: NPI Manager
Location: Shanghai
Department: Purchasing
Product Line: Electronic
Reports to: Product Line Purchasing Manager - Electronic
Overall Purpose of Job
This should be a broad overview of this position's function. Include the overall scope of the position and the authority this position possesses in terms of programs/ projects/ operations and establishing policy.
? Lead NPI Buyer is part of Purchasing Department, with the responsibility of developing and implementing specific product work packages to ensure the objectives of Company Automotive Purchasing and Operations are met. In the PRC, this position will be normally based within a Company WOFE
Position Main Responsibilities and Major Continuing goals:
Project Control and Management
? Ensure Project milestones are met in accordance with company Global Product Development process.
? Lead departmental product strategy reviews
? Develop multi product strategy direction
? Monitor issues & give early warning of any major hazards to projects
? Present product launch to commodity team
? Issue capacity statement from supplier based on known volume
? Confirm capacity capability through joint meetings with SDE
? Establish component level expected PPM target based on customer expected target
? Arrange regular supplier reviews & visit key suppliers to ensure project is on track
? Monitor drawing and BOM releases from engineering to ensure timely transition and planning
? Issue regular updates on project status to commodity team
? Identify long lead times to commodity team & agree a management plan
? Organize regular commodity team reviews
? Ensure commodity purchasing/procurement are aware of build demands & customer expectations
? Support DV/PV builds
? Represent purchasing in the GDPIM process (Product Development Process)
? Represent purchasing in the CQA process (Preparing customer quotations)
? Lead purchasing in the VA/VE process and co-ordinate purchasing input with commodity teams, core development, and NPI
? Represent the Product Line in the absence of the Product Purchasing Manager
Cost Control
? Issue BOMs to commodity team to enable sourcing and costing.
? Confirm with estimating the business case BOM can be supported with identified quotations & pricing agreements
? Ensure component costs achieve commercial & business case expectations over life of product. Monitor BOM cost as % of sales at a plant level and ensure actions are in place to maintain profitability on program-by-program basis.
? Track changes in BOM & record, drive action where necessary
? Identify target costs, should costs and compare to current costs and drive action to reduce BOM
? Monitor scrap/liability costs where applicable and ensure charge back to project team
? Identify with Cross Functional team and suppliers opportunities to take cost out to the product (VA/VE).
? Track tool costs & amortization to ensure that overpayments do not occur.
? Liaise with commodity purchasing in order to obtain initial pricing based on known volume profile
? Drive action in commodity purchasing to obtain Operating Plan budget and ensure profitability over planning horizon (5years minimum).
Component selection/control
? Supply and coordinate with Engineering to produce and maintain technology roadmaps
? Identify PPAP/AQPQ requirements & manage process with SDE
? Monitor APQP progress and regularly review with suppliers & SDE
? Confirm that parts selected are acceptable for automotive applications & are suitable for manufacturing processes
? Guide & influence engineering component selections to meet strategic supply list
? Confirm life cycle of parts
? Review with engineering design phases & component change requirements
? Liaise with commodity purchasing to ensure LOI/Purchase orders are issued in a timely manner
Reporting & General
? Submit/present reports on project status as and when requested by Product Purchasing manager
? Submit/present reports on project status to Exec Management as and when required
? Support the NPI team on other projects as and when requested
? Develop team members understanding of systems and help set targets.
Location of the role
? Travel to Company sites will be required - Asia Pacific & Global
? Travel to supplier sites will be required - Asia Pacific & Global
? Role is expected to be located at the relevant engineering center applicable to the portfolio
Key Competencies:
? Awareness of the nature of business/corporate strategy and a much greater understanding of the appropriateness of different purchasing strategies
? A broad understanding of the product and the market cost drivers for such a portfolio
? A broad understanding of the nature of supply market structures. Detailed knowledge of commercial and contract law.
? Familiar with Quality Management tools such as APQP, PPAP, Problem Analysis Tools, etc.
? Good communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to express a subject clearly and understandable and to persuade others.
? Good organizational skills, to categorize work processes according to importance
? Ability to adjust or adapt to changed situations, problems and tasks quickly
? Team Leadership skills, good interpersonal skills
? Education: Diploma/Degree in Engineering/Technology or commercial subject
? Language: Fluency in the English language
? Experience: At least 3 years in a responsible position within purchasing or experience in a relevant function together with a minimum of 12 months experiences in purchasing
